So, if this turns out to be a deal that you don't personally like, does that mean you no longer trust AA as the GM?

Oh man we have our first bitter Peter Gammons tweet of the trade saga.

Gives this some credibility imo

If people don't like this deal they'd probably go back to not trusting AA as their janitor let alone their GM, some fans are so fickle.

If I don't like the deal I won't be happy with AA obviously, but I've always trusted his judgement as our GM. Everyone makes a bad deal. It might not even be a bad deal. I'll just pray it works out.

I wonder if a fanbase has ever not wanted to trade for the reigning Cy Young winner before. What a joke.

We want him we just have common sense and don't think we should pay whatever price the Mets want to do it. Dickey for a fair price awesome. Overpaying out the ass no thanks.

I think you missed the part about him saying if the leafs were close to being a contender

I am working under the premise that the Leafs are contenders. Not that it changes anything however, bad asset management is bad asset management, regardless of a teams position in the standings.

I'm still holding out some very slight hope for JPA, Rasmus +.

Yeah I was really hoping that was gonna be the framework for this deal. Sounds like the Mets are looking for as many years of control as possible which may have taken them out of the equation early. The waiting game has now begun.

Jays might have a hard time extending him imo. They are basing it on the original figure reported. Which is a bargain for a cy young winner. Surely hes worth closer to sanchez type money. $15M?

Guess we will see what happens. I have doubts.

If I dont like the deal, I still trust him. He has made too many good moves not to.

I also admit he knows alot more than I do. I have faith in that. It doesn't mean I have to like the trade or that AA cant make a mistake.

It may take away the ninja status either way. Way too much info leaked during the process and too high of a premium if the rumours are true. I'd still trust him but this could be one he loses and badly.

Only in Toronto (the most frustrating sports city for a fan in the world) would people be pissed about acquiring a top player, regardless of the price (which has yet to be released)

If the Jays win the World Series, it will have been worth it, and that's what its all about. If it backfires, you can look back and say it was a bad trade.

We don't even know the details yet.

Which is exactly what everyone is saying. If it's as reported it's overpayment, if it's a fair deal then great.

You then come up with that meaning people don't want a Cy Young winner :help:

Doesn't seem as though any of it leaked on our end. You can't help what the other side does.

Should I pull my pants down and bend over? Cause if this deal includes tda + noah, we sure got ****ed.

Why not just give him what he's been rumoured to want. 2 years 13 mil per.

Some people just have no patience. We don't even know how the team we have now will perform together.

Yeah this has happened numerous times in the topic (oh wait it hasn't and you're just pulling stuff out of your ass)
