Doc holiday is a stud, any jays fan who says halladay didn't care about the jays is a complete moron, obviously if a team Is going to rebuild he wants to leave, he just did it a way more honourable way than some other certain captain did in toronto and roy should be honoured, and if he so said one word about coming back to the jays the whole city might blow up.

I've stated my opinion and I'll leave it at that. In the end, it's not my decision, so my opinion doesn't really matter. Oh, and I never said Roy shouldn't be honored by the Jays for his time in Toronto nor did I say he didn't care about the Jays.

This is the second or third time I've seen you compare the reigning Cy Young Award winner to Tyler ****ing Bozak. Cut it out.

he's not comparing Bozak to Dickey, he's comparing Bozak to Arencibia. McKinnon is D'Arnaud. How hard is that not to get?

edit: I wasn't following the exact conversation but that was the analogy used earlier anyway, I was assuming it was the same thing, my bad

Our prospect pool will be drained and who ever we pick at 10th is very unlikely to be as good as TDA.

Also the rules of the draft have changed. It will be much harder to add talent. We also wont be getting as many supplemental picks now.
Part of the reason our team is so full of good young players and prospects is because of trade and we wont be in sell mode to recoup those prospects anymore.

Who knows how good or bad the #10 pick will be. What I'm saying is, this trade doesn't alter the way we manage our farm system. Like I said, we still have one of, if not the largest scouting staffs in baseball. We have money to spend on international scouting. Andrew Tinnish is a GM in the making and he's the head guy of our scouting program. We're in great shape.

So, I have to ask:

Are you still going to follow the Jays if they make this deal?

Are you still goingt to follow the Jays if they don't make this deal?

In the big scheme of things, is whether this trade gets done or not going to have any real effect on your life?

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. It will make me happy for a couple of minutes and excited for the upcoming season.

Andrew Tinnish is actually the Jays Assistant GM now.

Lets trade every prospect in the system for 1 shot at the WS. Who cares if it means we miss the playoff for the next 20 seasons after our faied shot.

I know right. People think that RA Dickey is gonna get us a world series 100% no matter what. They forget that there are some other pretty good teams out there. Hello Nationals, Giants, Angels, Rangers, Tigers ..........

Exactly. If the trade guaranteed a WS appearance of course you do it. But even with this trade we can be sure of nothing. I would rather wait and see if our team can gel together and meet expectations before we go all in.

Gotta get there first and then after that who knows. Thats why you play the games and thats why you make the moves AA is making. If you're never going to make big moves and take risks there's no point in even showing up.

Leafs should trade Reilly for elite playoff performer Dave Bolland because that's why you play the games

Personally, I think he gives us a better shot, but it's certainly not guaranteed. Heck, if it guaranteed a World Series, I wouldn't want to make the deal because it would spoil the fun of the season.

Maybe AA values D'Arnaud and/or Syndergaard less than the unaffiliated scouting community? Maybe he values Dickey more? Perish the thought.

Typical fan argument, GM is trading X therefore X is not as good as we thought. The argument goes both ways, and is equally misleading both ways. Have the Mets soured on Dickey, why else trade an inexpensive ace?

If the Leafs were close to being a serious contender and a deal for an appropriate addition called for moving Morgan Reilly, then, yes, I woud definitely consider it.

No one is arguing that

This is overpayment though. I don't think anyone here wouldn't trade TDA/Syndengaard in the perceived "right" deal

Comparing hockey players/prospects to baseball ones = Dumb post of the day. If you're so worried about prospects go and cheer for the Rays or Marlins. Reilly is an elite prospect who is 18. Prospects are prospects are prospects. If the Leafs were going for it I'd move a prospect to try and win. You do realize teams can try and win and draft and develop at the same time right?

Sources: #Mets, #BlueJays have agreement in principle on Dickey trade. Window open for Jays to extend Dickey, which would complete deal.

Would you trade Morgan Rielly for MSL?
