Only in Toronto (the most frustrating sports city for a fan in the world) would people be pissed about acquiring a top player, regardless of the price (which has yet to be released)

If the Jays win the World Series, it will have been worth it, and that's what its all about. If it backfires, you can look back and say it was a bad trade.

You realize the jays are the only Canadian team right? You realize that not every jays fan is a fan of every other team in Toronto right?

Some people just have no patience. We don't even know how the team we have now will perform together.

Patience!?!?!?!?!

Anyone who is still a die hard Jays fan has all the patience in the world in my opinion. This franchise has been the definition of mediocrity since the early 90s. Yes it sucks to lose a top-end prospect, but you have to give to get.

What if that rumor is false?

Exactly. We have no idea what he asked for or wants. Maybe he wants more now since he will be moving north of the border/taxes etc , who knows what else. Or maybe he doeant want to play in toronto lol

Too many factors.

But i would guess the jays have a very strong feeling otherwise they wouldnt go through all this.

No one is arguing giving up good prospects. But two of our top 3 is excessive. No one wants to overpay

We are close now anyway. I just think we should wait and see what we have before we go all in.

We cant do anything about the last 20 years of failure. All we can do is try to make the moves that best insure we don't fail for the next 20.

Knowingly overpaying for any player isnt good asset management.

Why does everyone want to deal Rasmus? Kid is going to be a star!

DEAL IN PLACE

After prolonged negotiations, it appears the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets have an agreement in principle on a deal involving reigning National League CY Young winner R.A. Dickey, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com
According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the deal between the two clubs could see seven players switch teams, with Dickey, catcher Josh Thole and a prospect heading to Toronto for catching prospect Travis d'Arnaud, pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard, recently acquired catcher John Buck and another prospect.

i'll say....

D'Arnaud
Syndegaard
Lind
Buck
Sierra

for

Dickey
Ike Davis
Thole

please :spud:

Why else would they be complaining about the rumoured deal?

Well you said people are complaining about it regardless of price, which is the opposite of whats happening

If you meant the opposite, I don't really disagree, but that's also because this is an exceptionally unique situation

pretty much what I had minus Lind, but yeah if you're getting Davis then Lind is pretty much useless, and the Mets may want a 1B back so that's reasonable. LInd's value is pretty low anyway so it's basically the same trade
