Why not just give him what he's been rumoured to want. 2 years 13 mil per.
Only in Toronto (the most frustrating sports city for a fan in the world) would people be pissed about acquiring a top player, regardless of the price (which has yet to be released)
If the Jays win the World Series, it will have been worth it, and that's what its all about. If it backfires, you can look back and say it was a bad trade.
Yeah this has happened numerous times in the topic (oh wait it hasn't and you're just pulling stuff out of your ass)
Some people just have no patience. We don't even know how the team we have now will perform together.
I'm sorry, what am I pulling out of my ass?
Which is exactly what everyone is saying. If it's as reported it's overpayment, if it's a fair deal then great.
You then come up with that meaning people don't want a Cy Young winner![]()
What if that rumor is false?
What if that rumor is false?
No one is arguing giving up good prospects. But two of our top 3 is excessive. No one wants to overpayPatience!?!?!?!?!
Anyone who is still a die hard Jays fan has all the patience in the world in my opinion. This franchise has been the definition of mediocrity since the early 90s. Yes it sucks to lose a top-end prospect, but you have to give to get.

Every single person complaining about this trade has directly related it to the price of acquisition.
I'd pee if it turned out to be JPA+Rasmus+Buck+prospect. Wishful thinking though.

Why else would they be complaining about the rumoured deal?
Why does everyone want to deal Rasmus? Kid is going to be a star!
DEAL IN PLACE

After prolonged negotiations, it appears the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets have an agreement in principle on a deal involving reigning National League CY Young winner R.A. Dickey, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com
Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the deal between the two clubs could see seven players switch teams, with Dickey, catcher Josh Thole and a prospect heading to Toronto for catching prospect Travis d'Arnaud, pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard, recently acquired catcher John Buck and another prospect.
