I kinda wonder if Mets would want J.A. Haap. Even though he is a bit on the older side, he isn't that old, and he is cheap and controllable. I dunno, could Jays perhaps flip him elsewhere for prospects and use that + JP for Dickey? Just throwin' it out there.

Rasmus has plenty of potential but if he stinks it up again next season he will have exactly ZERO value.

Not a Rasmus fan.

If thats the case, screw that! Not worth it.

If he isn't up to signing an extension then go for Niese.

EDIT: Why they hell wouldn't he want to sign an extension? He comes to the AL, most competitive division. He would play for a GREAT team, has a chance to WIN. And the best of all... Doesnt just play for a state or province, but a whole damn country.

I guess they'll have to shift their focus to Niese. I wonder why he won't do why. He may be afraid of the great white north
 
What is the projected ceiling for a guy like Gose?

I wonder this because if he is indeed the guy that gets traded, what are the Jays going to lose out on? He does have unbelievable range in the outfield. His bat might not ever be there, but if he does put it together then what are the Jays expecting? .285 BA with an OBP of around .350? Stolen bases of around 40?

I wouldnt hate it if he got traded.

I'd run with Bonifacio in CF for a bit and let Gose imrpove his batting down in AAA.

I think Happ is one of those players AA just has a thing for. He's pursued him for quite some time and finally got him last year for a lot of pieces. I can't see him turning around and moving him unless it's for something special.

I doubt he would have "Zero" value. A team would def want Rasmus, and they would probably give something good up for him.

If his bat develops you're looking at a monster.

Stolen bases of 40? Try 65+

If Rasmus OPS's sub .700 again next season he'd have little value.

I'd say a Bonifacio-type with elite defence and more power/slightly better bat overall.

shouldn't he WANT an extension at this point of his career??

Defensive potential is gold glover at CF, offensive potential is Michael Bourn. Think the second coming of Devon White. He is pretty much ready defensively which is why I really like him as a prospect, he will be a serviceable CF at worst because of his defense, but has All-Star potential if bat develops.

I think it's more so "don't trade me" as opposed to "I actually won't sign with my new team if you actually do trade me."

He wants the Mets to extend him, by saying he won't sign he is knowingly hurting his value with the hope the Mets ante up knowing that their return isn't going to be great.
 
For the people talking "This cant be true because nothing ever leaks from AA".

AA can only control his side of the ledger. If the Mets GM go blabs something to some beat writer or the leak stuff AA really cant do a single thing about it and I doubt hes all the sudden going to say no to making a deal just because word got out. Apparently the Mets have a history of letting things leak easily also.

Gose stole 15 bases in about 1/4 of a full season worth of atbats while hitting only .233. He has 60+ base stealing potential. Add to that his D and one of the best outfield arms in the game. He stole over 70 bases twice in the minors.

Right now he is a better overall player than Rasmus IMO. But I would like to see him get some more time in AAA just to help his bat improve so he can be an even better player.

If Gose puts up anywhere close to .285 BA / .350, you are looking at a perennial all star. His defense and speed are that good.

If rumors of him being unwilling yo sign an extension are true, I really hope AA pulls the chute.
