EJax will likely ask for as much as Dickey is over a longer term, while providing less value as a starter.

My concern with Davis is he's weak against lefties as well but the power is there. He's coming off a bit of an off year though and is young so that could improve

sorry i misunderstood you. I'm curious as well, he could essentially replace hechevarria with a similar prospect, possibly groom him to be our next 2B

Sources: Intense trade talks yesterday regarding Dickey, with Texas, Toronto and, hey now, Baltimore being serious players.
 
Dickey throwing that ball at 77 mph or so 80% of the time, would take a lot less toll on his arm, so makes me doubt that he would get injured. It would take a while to get used to catching it.

No worries. It would have been in my other post.

He's got a decent bat too suppsedly, could provide that 2B were looking for.

Im starting to warm up to Dickey, that Knuckle ball would be sweet in our rotation.

I would do JP + arms in a second.

As long as its not one of the Lansing kids. DeJong+Jenkins+JPA?
 
Hmm his time in AL was not memorable. What changed besides moving to the NL. Hmmm. Now i would be careful what i give up. You do still have him for one year cheaply.
 
heh Mets fans on twitter claiming TD'A must be included, some even hoping for TD'A + Gose. I can't see that happening, no way, don't think either should be traded for Dickey. These guys, plus Drabek, are essentially what we got from Halladay, to turn around and flip them for Dickey right when they are on the cusp makes no sense.

If either are involved it'd have to be for Niese, and even then only 1 not both.

Uhh, I kinda hope we don't give up Gose. If we do give JPA + and its between Rasmus or Gose, it needs to be Rasmus. Gose being super cheap and be a defensive stud would provide more than enough value, even if its batting 9th.

Blue jays want to keep d'arnaud but have arencibia and others. Also have OFs. Trade seems like strong possibility.

Plus we have Bonifacio, who would be a very capable stop gap in center until Gose is ready.

They can claim whoever they want MUST be included but reality is a much different beast

Usually when our team is mentioned it doesnt happen. Remember many, many times. This is pure specualtion, not fact.

Exactly. We can afford to move Rasmus at this point. I'm not sure I like the idea of Rasmus and JPA for just Dickey though
 
Im totally fine with JPA+Rasmus for Dickey.

With the strength of the lineup it can more then makeup for 2 rookies in it (d'Arnaud/Gose) and they give you improved defense over the other 2.

Depends on how you read that statement. I read it as if he doesnt want a trade to TO.

Agreed. Rasmus has pleanty of potential, I would rather get someone younger or more than one player.
