Corey Knebel to the Phillies is a very underrated signing, dude was a stud out of the pen for LAD this past year and Philly's bullpen was hot garbage in 2021
I guess we'll have to see. These are the guys we know for sure are not going anywhere anytime soon:I suspect our payroll will also increase YOY if the team continues to improve
Yikes.
I have a feeling this lockout drags on to the point where it starts eating actual games. The players have a good 6 years worth of grievances and it doesn't sound like they plan on backing down.
Proposing this isn't even negotiating. This is just straight up "f*** you, come back to the table in 3 months when you're more willing to cave"
If we need to save money to re-sign Bo and Vlad then I'd rather go after Seager for 3B in the short term and give Groshans a chance when he's ready.
I'd rather get another strong bull pen arm and a late rotation starter - Rich Hill maybe?
What about the minor leaguers getting actual room and board? A lot of those guys make minimum wage or less and the vast majority will never make the big leagues.
Is that not discussed in the CBA? I'm not being sarcastic, I thought this was something that the P.A was concerned with. What about it? I think that's a separate matter and not related to the CBA at all.
Don't know how the Jays couldn't match or beat that offer
I’m fine not matching that offer. Chris Taylor is 31 and hits right handed. He was more of a luxury item than a need.
The Jays' deep prospect pool is the other side of me saying we don't need to pull off all these blockbuster trades or FA signings because they already have an elite team set and a strong minor league system.I’m fine not matching that offer. Otto Lopez could play a similar role the next 7 years for much cheaper. Like Taylor he hasn’t hit for a ton of power in the minors but dude can hit and play multiple positions. keep an eye on him in spring training.
He picked it because Roy Halladay was his favourite pitcher. Who cares if someone else has the same number in a totally different sport.I hope someone told him there is already a pretty famous athlete in Toronto who wears #34, and will probably end up getting it retired too...... You might might want to pick a different one.
Him: "I wear #34 to in honour of famous Toronto Athlete"
There's going to be a lot of people guess the guy down the street.

Awesome. Didnt know that. Last I checked it was still an issue, obviously. The minor league housing thing is already a done deal.
Leases No More: MLB Teams Now Responsible for Minor League Housing
Owners love screwing themselves
Lol. NoI hope someone told him there is already a pretty famous athlete in Toronto who wears #34, and will probably end up getting it retired too...... You might might want to pick a different one.

Guys that we haven't even seen yet like Moreno, Groshans, Martinez, Hoglund and even Lopez could end up having just as much impact as guys the FO is trying to get for expensive right now
so in other words the jacket says Canadian fans are no longer particularly important to this team and it's players.it was the idea of the teams interpreter Hector Lebron i think its here to stay for future
The jacket was the brainchild of Lebron as a means to represent the multicultural backgrounds of the team and its fan base. Whether it’s Korea for Hyun-Jin Ryu, Mexico for Alejandro Kirk, the Dominican Republic for Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Canada for Jordan Romano, or Puerto Rico for manager Charlie Montoyo.
The saying “La Gente Del Barrio” was meant as a saying to represent everyone on the team, from the players to the coaches. The Blue Jays are known as “Canada’s team,” but this jacket symbolizes the entire world.
