Please go all-in on Bryant, good fit.

If we need to save money to re-sign Bo and Vlad then I'd rather go after Seager for 3B in the short term and give Groshans a chance when he's ready.

I'd rather get another strong bull pen arm and a late rotation starter - Rich Hill maybe?

In 2 years we'll have both Ryu and Grichuk off the books. Lots of money left to play with

Anyone know how much Bryant is actually going to cost? He’ll be 30 by next opening day so I’m assuming it’ll likely be longer than 5 years

The AAV is decent but I have to assume Stroman cost himself some term with his antics. But he'd just brush that off as he wants less term to get the chance to prove how awesome he is over and over again

Stroman is almost certainly reaching 160IP(barring work stoppage) so I don't think 27 Mil per season is decent for Stroman.

You're probably looking at 4+ years at an aav around 20 million
If it's 5 years 90-100 million I wouldn't mind the Jays making that move. I know Vlad and Bo need to be paid big time in a few years but Grichuk and Ryu are off the books after 2023 so that's $30 million coming off the table at the very least.

I can't tell which side of this you're looking at it from. I'm saying Stroman getting that much money is decent for him, but he cost himself term. Not that it's a decent deal for the Cubs.

I suspect our payroll will also increase YOY if the team continues to improve

Figures stroman announced his own deal. Good luck cubs fans

As the resident Cubs fan on here. I don't really like this at all. Small man syndrome where he needs to yap and play with a fake chip on his shoulder. If he just shut up and pitched then by all means he can help
