To be fair, I was certain Eller was going to be traded at the deadline and wouldn't be surprised if MB revisits those trade discussions.

Sadly, that's what I see happening. I think part of why he's so candid is he expects a trade or is subtly demanding one.

That would be a mistake. Just keep him and trade Desharnais, I think it's the best thing to do.

If we trade Eller, we need a big winger for him.

Subban had a whole article saying how Therrien helped make him better, pretty strong support there.

I doubt Price throws him under the bus for helping him win the Vezina and Hart.

No, his grade is an I for incomplete because we did not experiment with him at all in the top 6. The strongest evidence against Eller would have been him given top 6 roles and him failing, just like a science experiment.

I can't see San Jose making this deal. They'd probably get more attractive pieces in 2 seperate deals of Jumbo & Marleau. And they might not want to waive their full NMC.

As if there was any doubt about DD, but Patches seriously? What a bland player. What leadership qualities does he have? His performance on the ice? Nope, rip that A off of him, give it to Gally and the C for PK.

I'm not sure why people are interpreting Subban's comments about being in transition as a shot to management. When you look at the interview and put things in context, he simply said that as a player your focus is never on wether it's a transition, rebuild or whatever, every player wants to win.

That's confirmation bias. We know he produced 30 points in 46 games, indicating he does have untapped potential. We simply have done nothing to exploit it. Even if Eller were vaulted onto the powerplay and struggled, you'd have something of an argument. But he has been relegated to the third line with crap for wingers. Swap Eller and DD and DD's numbers would plummet.

How did Therrien help Price win the Hart or Vezina? He did Price no favors all season long. Habs were outshot for the large majority of games in the regular season. If anything it was Price who helped Therrien keep his job.

A-the Habs have a young core, makes no sense to cripple your team for a 1-2 year window

B_those guys have not exactly led the Sharks to glory in their career or the last few years.

C-if you were to get those guys, why the hell would you put Eller with them? Give them a legit top 6 linemate.
