Another baseball off-season means another roster shuffle for the folks who bring Canadians the broadcasts of Blue Jays baseball.
After unceremoniously bouncing Ben Wagner from the radio booth following the 2023 season, Sportsnet has announced that the veteran will be replaced by a name familiar to fans of the team.
Ben Shulman, son of the terrific long-time TV voice of the Jays, Dan Shulman, will take over the radio duties beginning with spring training action this month. And unlike his predecessor, the younger Shulman will have a regular partner in the booth. Former pro player Chris Leroux will handle the analyst duties.
As has been the case in recent seasons, it is expected that the radio crew will call road games remotely.
Dan Shulman will return as the lead play-by-play voice for Rogers exhaustive TV coverage, joined in the booth by Buck Martinez and Joe Siddall, who will split the analyst assignments.
Expect an increased role for former catcher Caleb Joseph, who continued to evolve as an insightful studio analyst last season.
