A couple of obscure facts/stats I came across this week:
The team record for most NHL outdoor games is a tie between Pittsburgh, Chicago and Philadelphia at 6 games each.
The player record for most NHL outdoor games played belongs to James van Riemsdyk with 7 games.
I just thought that was funny that a player beats all the teams.
Chicago will become the only team with 7 outdoor games in 2024-25 and van Riemsdyk has a chance to play in his 8th outdoor game if he signs with either St. Louis, Chicago, Columbus or Detroit.

Ronnie Sundin, a Swedish player, played only a single game in the NHL on January 14, 1998 as a defenseman for the New York Rangers. It was an away game against the New Jersey Devils and the Rangers lost 1-4.
Sundin's stats from that game (he wore #38):
22:04 total ice time (1:18 shorthanded and 0:11 power play)
27 shifts
No points, no penalties, no shots, even 0-rating
3 hits
What's interesting is that while Sundin had a 0-rating the other five defensemen
for the Rangers all had a -1 rating
(Leetch, Lidster, Karpovtsev, Finley & Cairns).
On paper he had a pretty decent game with the second highest ice time among the D-men.
He finished off the 1997-98 season playing for the Rangers farm team Hartford in the AHL
and later went back home to Sweden where he finished his playing career.
He was pulled over for DUI in 2008 and 2019 in Sweden, and the incident in 2019 led to an arrest and imprisonment due to his high alcohol level, driving towards oncoming traffic and while having a concealed knife on his person, it resulted in a two-month prison sentence.

I don't know how rare this is but all four goaltenders had ice time in a game on January 8, 2012 between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Anaheim Ducks.
Steve Mason played 20:00 and Curtis Sanford 39:36 for the Blue Jackets.
Jonas Hiller played 18:57 and Iiro Tarkki played 40:51 for the Ducks.
What's more odd is how few saves they had. All four goalies had 34 saves combined, making it an average of 8.5 saves per goalie.
Anaheim won the game 7-4.
