Confirmed with Link: NYR Acquire Jacob Trouba for Pionk and 20th Overall pick

I was against this move but I can’t hate this at all. Great deal. Much better than spending the 20th pick on Seider or York.

Still want to trade Kreider and change to get Newhook or another center though.

- 1 month of Kevin Hayes
- Neal Pionk
- 2nd round pick
- 3rd round pick

In exchange for:

- Jacob Trouba
- Brendan Lemieux
- Adam Fox

Yeah the only thing I'm concerned about is the price is so low because Trouba is going to go UFA and has no desire to sign long term right now

Honestly that would make sense

Unless the Rangers come through here and give him an offer he can't refuse, which could get expensive. But regardless, you would assume they can at least re-coup about the same value for him as a rental next Feb

Probably traded but Fox can star in the AHL if need be too

No in all serious this is a massive massive move! Trouba DeAngelo Fox on your right side? It’s the hardest position to fill WELL.

I’m thrilled just thrilled this is a massive step. Maybe the best move of Gortons tenure here. The return don’t kid yourselves doesn’t happen if that Winnipeg first rounder didn’t improve all the way to 20th overall. That’s really good value most likely the best first rounder offered for trouba.

And pionk is pure garbage one of the worst players in the league.

very possible that he gets moved...but I don't think you can assume he has something lined up considering the price. for this price gorton couldn't say no and will figure out the rest after
 
Now watch us get a higher first round pick for Kreider than we just gave up for Trouba.

Great deal. We got a guy who should be worth a McDonagh return for much, much less.

This is exactly how I feel about this. Maybe the front office feels like they've got enough coming up the next few years that it can be D by committee, or that one of them will supersede Trouba and be the #1
