Pionk discussion is there. Like some of us were saying it just made sense that he’d go in a deal to Jets as a cheap young RD ready to take a roster spot.

This will hurt the Rangers cap room a lot down the line. Trouba is greedy. However, you can't argue the return. Pionk and the 20th was pretty reasonable to say the least. Now, moving 2 out of 3 with Staal, Smith and Shattenkirk are key. Yeah, they can buy them out but they really need to move at least 1. I pray 2. At least one for a late pick. That would help a lot.

I disagree...trouba is a #2 and will get $7-8 mil per. karlsson is a #1 and just got $11.5 mil, if he was 25 it would probably be $13 mil. so $7.5 mil for a #2 is fine...it only becomes a problem if trouba turns into a bottom pair guy

That said you ofc always do this deal because you can get back at least that much at the TDL if you need to.
