Willy must have gotten text blasted by 20 year old Swedish triplets who any of us would be happy with one of at some point between 2nd intermission and his goal.

Sloppy, boring game. Ten minutes of getting run over followed by ten minutes of domination followed by forty minutes of getting run over, but with an 8PM start time where I am it felt good to watch a game like a normal person.

I said in the pregame that this wasn’t a guaranteed two points and it almost wasn’t.

Woll looked great after the first goal and Matthews and Mitch have woken up.

I like the bouncy boards, low glass and unpredictable ice they played on in Sweden.

So does Minnesota have a famous Swede in their history that I can’t think of? I can understand why us, Detroit, and Ottawa went, Minnesota feels like the NHL just needed a fourth team.

Minnesota has a large Swedish population. Ever hear of the Minnesota Vikings? Ha ha of course you have.

Ultimately, Leafs did not play nearly their best games in either one. But also when you leave a trip like that with 4 out of a possible 4 points, it is still a success and a positive.

Of course, Kyper and Bourne put a little damper on it in their post-game analysis. Bourne I don't think had a great ending relationship with Dubas/Keefe. Kyper is a fear-mongering blue collar hockey screamer. Probably attractive to those who don't like cheerleaders, but man, I don't expect anything else from him.

Team needs to continue to get better but also like you look back on this in 2 weeks you smile at the two points and that's really all you think about.

I think that is more coincidence than anything else. The last several wins have been against pretty mediocre teams, so I'm not sure you could say that McCabe was pivotal to those wins. I'm not sure it would have mattered who was in the lineup. Between now and December 30 it looks like they have maybe 5 games against good teams (Florida, Boston, NYR x2 and Carolina). They are going to have a very good record between now and the end of December, and I don't think it will matter who is in the lineup.

I don't think he is the smartest of the three... but his edge work is absolutely insane... he might have the best in the league, the separation he gets out of a curl is insane.

For me(and i'm sure many others), this year, he's been the smartest as well because no matter how great your edge work you have to be able to make good decisions in terms of where to spin based on how other players are positioned around you (for example even JT has decent edgework(and AM, Mitch are too) but they just aren't able to get away with it as often...JT for example runs into a wall because he doesn't see the ice as well...that's because he just isn't as smart).

Lots to not like in 4 of the 6 periods but these two games were about nothing more than finding a way to win. How doesn't matter. Job done imo.
