Real question is would he wanna stay playing third line minutes and pp2..and getting way less than he could elsewhere..
The truth is also no matter how hard he works with Tavares , and Tavares with him, the outcome will still suck. They seldom work hard at the same time. and even if they are working hard they seldom click. With a non exsistent 1st and 2nd line its hard to win.“The truth may be somewhere in the middle”. So people like are you just hype merchants rather than serious hockey people debating a player. You just admitted what you spew isn’t reality. And I don’t channel anything towards him, he’s just one of many frustrations. Seems you channel all your rationalizations to him. Everything I’ve directed towards Bill is fair and mirrored by the hockey world. Just work hard, that’s really it.
Agreed but only make it a bridge deal so we can give him $15m the next contract.Welcome him to the 10 million dollar club.
Why shouldn’t he make as much as the rest?
He was best with Kamph and Lafferty
Zero goals in 3 games by the petit 4.Kampf and Lafferty actually came to play. The depth forwards were fine last night. One goal from the Big 3 would have had the series at 2-1.
100%.Kampf and Lafferty actually came to play. The depth forwards were fine last night. One goal from the Big 3 would have had the series at 2-1.
Probably correct, but Matty is the only one who should be making $10M. Willy at $8-9, Mitch a bit less until he shows up in the playoffs, and JT about $6 are more reasonable numbers, and more in line with their performances, especially during the playoffs.Welcome him to the 10 million dollar club.

A goal each game and were up in the series IMO. We controlled Games 1 and 2 but they couldnt finish. Basically every game has been 3-2Kampf and Lafferty actually came to play. The depth forwards were fine last night. One goal from the Big 3 would have had the series at 2-1.
They want to run him out of town like Kadri. We always become a worse team when they run a player out of town. Moving on Marner and Matthews isn't so much a run out of town thing, it's a will they commit to sign here thing. Marner being in the way cost wise of creating a balanced team and lack of playoff performance compared to costs.
Doesn't help when Keefe gives them (espcially Lafferty) minimal minutesKampf and Lafferty actually came to play. The depth forwards were fine last night. One goal from the Big 3 would have had the series at 2-1.
Depth showed up this playoffs in both series.Kampf and Lafferty actually came to play. The depth forwards were fine last night. One goal from the Big 3 would have had the series at 2-1.
See but the thing is, would we really regret it?Funnily enough if the Leafs do end up looking to rearrange the core, I do feel Nylander has the highest probability of making those same Leafs fans regret that decision when they see him plan on other team than the other guys.

Him going to that team could be the catalyst to his success.
It’s like the thing about kessel. Yea he proved us wrong and won, but he was never gonna do anything like that with us.
I know this is a nylander thread, but all of these guys are incredibly talented, no one denies that, but at some point you have to part ways.
Nylander isn’t the guy to win you a series, he’s good enough to make it a close one if he’s on, but he isn’t good enough to win you one. He can’t be played on an HBK line and win us the series. We saw in Montreal, he almost did, but didn’t. He won’t do it now either. We don’t have the big guns to close out the series either, Matthews and Marner are MIA’s in big games. Tavares is MIA all the time. You aren’t going to get big guns who show up by dealing Matthews and Marner. There is no tkachuk trade to “save” us. So if his impact isn’t great enough to lead us to victory, we may as well max out his value and retool using him and the others
