Count me as one person who will never likely see the latest Star Wars movie. I've seen the old ones but none of the new ones nor do I have any interest in them. I honestly don't get why people get so excited over movies. I've also never seen Lord of the Rings and almost every stupid super hero movie. I am looking forward to the Fast and Furious 12, though!

 you had me  till the end there

Speaking of Fast and Furious was I the only one puzzled why everyone on social media made it look like we lost a screen legend when Paul Walker died?

The same thing happens whenever any young actor or musician dies young.

Sincerely,

James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Kurt Cobain, Shannon Hoon, River Phoenix, and Scott Weiland

You know what the last thing on Paul's mind before the accident? The steering wheel...

He was passenger though?

Honestly, I'm not a "He got what he deserved" kinda guy. Even if that was to be true it effects a lot of friends and family, and I think your gonna be hard pressed to find a situation where everyone involved deserves it...

But as far as tragic deaths go, hard to rank it near the top. Would be like an actor who played a snake wrangler going out to the desert to catch snakes and getting bit.

I've done my fair share of irresponsible driving, and know plenty of people who have too... But come ****ing on Paul. Race tracks are a thing, and I have NEVER heard of that guy being at a track day. He could have straight gotten paid to show up at track days and drive a car that was prepared and loaned to him, like a Kardashian given a dress and wearing it to a paid appearance at a night club.
How is a millionare with a passion for cars never making it to a legit track even? How are you not going to Skip Barber school? He could have likely MADE MONEY being flown around the country doing a track day a week, but he was probably too afraid of someone putting a stop watch on him.
Having done both, street racing is a joke of an excuse for "racing".
Pushing a car on a closed course is 100% a different thing, "racing" public roads is basically a competition of who is willing to be more reckless. Even then, look at Rally drivers (i.e. WRC)... The greatest drivers in the world, ACTUALLY pushing cars on (closed off) public roads, usually end up crashing out of AT LEAST one event per season (13 races). If your not writing off a car in at least 1 out of 13 outings... Its not because your better then world class drivers... Its because your not actually pushing the car to its limits, your just screeching tires and pretending.

Similar with Ryan Dunn. He went to a go kart track on one of the movies he made, and they showed a good few clips. He was a terrible ****ing driver. All the resources to be trained by pros at one of the many schools the exist and ACTUALLY DO IT on amazing tracks around the world... Instead they kill themselves pretending out on the streets. Its ridiculous. I'm not saying drive the speed limit and come to a complete stop... But when your losing traction at over 100mph going around a corner, your not just out doing some spirited driving.

Even worse, PW's family is sueing Porsche for his death too. Morons.

I say Porsche should sue his family for destroying a piece of automobile art. RIP Carrera GT. We keep losing them to idiots with too much money and no clue how to handle a car.

The Force Awakens was a bit disappointing. My thoughts while I can remember most of it -

I'm spoiling the entire film.

[spoil]I heard from numerous sites that VII brought back the magic ingredients that made IV-VI so great. That it was an extension of the original trilogy. About halfway through VII I realized it was almost identical to the original three films. It all seemed like different snippets pieced together with newer characters. Rey reminds me of Luke a lot. The ultimate story is her honing the Force like Luke. I love Daisy Ridley by the way. She did a phenomenal job and is a great actress.

Ren and Snoke are Vader and Palpatine. Kylo is a badass though and I love his helmet and slender appearance in certain parts of the film (made him more of an agile villain where I always felt Vader was a bit cumbersome). Snoke displays tremendous power and exudes great fear. I liked how they didn't really expand on his character. Episodes VIII and IX should really flush things out.

Captain Phasma's armor is badass. I was extremely excited to see how her plot line played out, but she felt like a big after thought. She probably had 10 minutes of screen time total. I wish she would have fought after being held hostage, but that probably would have been the death of her. Hopefully she plays a bigger role in the next episode. Did I mention her armor is ****ing badass? Because it's ****ing badass.

I understand both parties have evolved through different phases (mainly defeat), but it feels like the New Order is the Empire with new helmets.

The Starkiller Base and ultimately the destruction of it felt identical to the Death Star.

Solo's death felt identical to Obi-Wan's death. It was a great scene though from an atmosphere standpoint.

Now I understand that all of these are an evolution of past events, and would be very common, but it all felt too similar and too readily mirroring previous events.

The transitions between major scenes were also identical to the original series.

Three of the funniest scenes I remember -

The first is when Rey and Finn are escaping and she calls the Millennium Falcon a pile of garbage. The second is when Rey said, "You're the one that did the Kessel run in 14 parsecs???" and Han gets irritated. The final is when they're trying to break into the Starkiller Base and Chewie is complaining about the cold.

I thought BB-8 was a fantastic replacement to R2-D2 (the main character droid role). The separate head allowed him to show a tremendous amount of emotion along with his beeps and boops.[/spoil]

Overall I enjoyed it very much, but it did let me down from a fresh episode standpoint.

I agree with you in your assessment. I started to get really frustrated midway through though. I also thought Daisy did a great job. Very subtle but strong performance.

is this a troll post? you just said in your first sentence that he wasnt driving, so the proceeding rant is kinda misdirected, don't you think? not to mention, almost entirely inaccurate. a quick google search results in quite a few number of articles and videos of track events/car clubs that paul was active and participated in. also not to mention, the guy that was driving, mr rodas was a total track junkie and by all accounts not a bad driver behind the wheel.

sometimes motor vehicles, especially ones like the carrera gt when being pushed within a certain level of its limits and the drivers, have a tendency to teach you things about it in a very unforgiving manner. unfortunately it was the perfect set of circumstances to take the lives of two young guys. that's not to say its an excuse, just a little inside perspective to a hard to understand scenario. while the GT is an incredible piece of machinery and worthy of praise, there has been a handful of negative comments by some elite level, professional race car drivers about some of its unexpected/unintended consequences while driving it at its limit.

just a sad situation and ironic all at the same time but i don't think your rant is justified imo(sans the ryan dunn part).
