Buddy submitted a patent request for a puffy jacket that hold about a gallon of hot water to keep you extra warm.
You fill it with hot water and the jacket stays incredibly warm for a while, for me it stayed warm for about 4 hours.
No doubt some wise guy will use it in an unauthorized manner and fill it with booze.

I thought the same when I first saw it, but then I rewatched and it looks like there's a legit Star Trek story in there. I have a feeling they tried to cut an action trailer to bring in a more general audience.
