It would create an opportunity for one of the younger guys. I am not suggesting a 2004 or 2005 could step in and score 40 goals to replace MacDonald's production but NB has some very good forward depth. Not to mention, that would free up an OA spot for NB to go out and get a top-end OA defenseman which would be more valuable to the teams overall success. I think you win championships when you have 3 OA's at the backend and the majority of the rest of the team is made up of 19 year old's.I wonder if McDonald earns a contract with Ottawa - what that would spell for North Bay?
