Yea they both move great! Let’s hopefully develop some offense!!
This team is deep at the forward position. Sima, Outwater and Romani are all in their NHL draft year, while Wakley, Van Steensel and Podolioukh have lots to prove and play for. How will the organization deploy their lineup this year. Both of the 2006 forwards will be buried and might not get much playing time. Any rumors about trades? Imo, they can go one of two ways, move the OA players for draft picks and prospects and promote within so the younger players get playing time or they move out some of this fine young talent to add a quality defensemen or two and make a push for the Eastern Conference and potentially the OHL league title.

Podolioukh is first time draft eligible too.
The battalion is equally as deep with fine young talent on D as it is at forward imo. Unless disaster strikes, I really doubt Dennis considers any type of sell. Depending on Winslow’s return date, a top six RW might be the priority add prior to the trade deadline. Ideally, a deal similar as the one for MacDonald can be made.

Ertel-Arnsby-MacDonald
Petrov-Jackson-(Wakely)
VanSteensel-Podolioukh-Romani
Outwater, Tarasevich, Procyszyn, Sima, Therrien

(Winslow)-Nelson
Mathurin-Christopolous
Lukin-Kennedy
Gauvreau, Turley

No way Arnsby is #1 centre, if that is what you're implying!

I’m implying that Arnsby line will start the game often. And if Winslow returns 100%, I think the D needs nothing added.

I think that Jackson is the #1 centre, and he will have Petrov as a LW if with the battalion again this season; and while I believe Wakely could score 30 goals playing on that line, I am not sure that he is an ideal top six player on a contending team.
I also think the bottom six might be as good or better than any team in the league.

Arnsby can't handle the role of a number 1 centreman. I love the way the kid plays but on a championship caliber team Arnsby would be your third line centreman. He's great at PK'ing and his physical play is needed but not an offensive driver in any way. I'm not sold that the current backend is championship worthy. Need to add a big strong skating dman like Hamilton did last year with Arber X. I also agree that adding a top six forward could put this team over the top. Not sure the third line will look like but lots of talent left to build what could be the best third line in the league or at least up there. Winslow is a question mark - I believe he had double hip surgery. That sounds like a six month recovery process. That could mean his return won't be until after xmas.

If Winslow is not expected 100% by late November, healthier than at any point last season as he just never resembled the player I expected, then add a #1 D by the deadline for sure. Otherwise leave the D alone as I think Nelson, Mathurin, Christopolous, Kennedy are legit 2, 3, 4, & 5-6; and, I’d want all back next season.
Like it or not, no matter who is added; Arnsby’s TOI and over all value will be top six. Don’t cap the late birth’s second season as his offensive ceiling. He is a pretty good play maker, and hopefully worked on his weak shot this off-season.

Time will tell, and I never underestimated Arnsby's value to a championship caliber team - just not sold on him as an offensive driver or high-end play maker. Tell you want, I'll reserve judgement until after the 20 game mark and see where Arnsby's offense goes. If you look at Hamilton last year they had Jan Mysak playing on their third line after they acquired Mason MacTavish and Mysak is a hell of a player. No shame in playing on the third line. I think NB has a shot this year if the GM and coach are willing to make the moves necessary to push this team over the top.

outwater to kingston
I think that on the table a few weeks ago but the Kingston player declined the trade.

Slightly underwhelming return for the 11th overall IMO. I know he didn't completely light it up last season but it's a bit early to be selling cheap on a player like this isn't it?

Yup, I thought he would’ve gotten a month of games to see where he’s at this year before this. He is raw and young, bad timing IMO

I would agree considering the 2nd and 3rd picks are in 2026.

Unless NB knows more about Outwater and his future ability then others?

The way this makes sense to me would be Outwater seeing himself pencilled in on the 4th line and asking out.

Makes me wonder even more why they didn’t trade him for a top player last year at the deadline

It is early, but he would be a 4th line player on a loaded team in his draft year; so, 👍👍. And 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 picks is not selling on the cheap; see Guelph’s dealings of Bertuzzi, Primeau, ‘67s Sirrizotti, Knights Rolofs, Gens Michaud …in their 2nd years.

Ertel was not expected, and Petrov to AHL a possibility

I think that stacked Oakville team helped him. I’m fine with the return.
I think Outwater will have a good year in Kingston and will be given every opportunity to succeed. The return is healthy and I hope those picks are used to go big game hunting either now or at the trade deadline. Imo, NBB will lose Jackson, MacDonald, Ertle, Petrov and possibly Arnsby next year. The GM needs to go all-in this year.

I don't recall any of these players being dealt before the beginning of their 17 year old season. Lots of eligibility left for Outwater. Just because other players were sold cheaper, doesn't mean that Outwater wasn't slightly underwhelming too.

He's got the tools I think he played scared last year. I don't think that will be the case this year. And I'm sure there are other players on the NBB that would like a trade.
