Was gonna say I knew Mixon was from the east bay.

That flag on former Wyo Cowboy Logan Wilson was terrible at the time, and still sucks.

Will today be the day? We're officially on trade watch for Jimmy. I'm hoping a 1st or 2nd. We shall see.
Getting close to the start of free agency. So once that hits SF will likely want to open up the cap space to sign players. That’s going to be the stare down between the 49ers and other clubs. Watson is still the big fish out there but he holds a no trade and he passed on Carolina last year.

Pitt, Indy, TB are probably the best teams right now that could use him and do something. Sea and Car need to add more talent to their roster. NO, not sure they can massage the cap enough to open up enough space to get him.

Minnesota could also move Cousins but they likely need to eat some of his $35 mill of guaranteed base salary to do it. They will for sure be eating the $10 mill of SB/restructuring of his contract if they can move him but again he’s likely to need to have some salary retained.

No incentive for cousins to restructure unless he gets more new money. So they would be tied to him for another season.

Has Jimmy had his surgery? Aren’t trades only finalized once the parties involved pass their physicals?

If I'm not mistaken, surgery was earlier this week or maybe even last week. Im pretty sure any intel needed by the medical staff apart of any of these organizations has been reviewed. Jimmy's expected to be throwing by training camp. I think the more time drags on, the more likely we get less for him. It probably peaked at a 2nd rd pick and is slowly devaluing the more other teams have other options become available. Watson, Cousins, etc.

Probably have to be realistic and think condition pick for 2023 based on his production or starts with other team.

But for Jimmy and his agent they are thinking past this seasons upcoming $27 mill salary. He doesn’t have the stats to command as good or better a contract than he got from SF. His trump card is being a good guy that his teammates love and winning games. So landing with a mediocre team will hurt that reputation and his next contract.

Ideally he wants to land with a good solid team to keep his win/loss record intact and secure another contract with guaranteed money. So even if that means giving up $7-12 mill it’s a roll of the dice for a better contract a year from now.

Excited for Rodon w/ the Giants. Now if they could just sign that should-be-better-than-Shinjo guy.

Also, the DH is dumb. You play on both sides, that's how baseball is played. None of this "I'm a special flower and only pitch", or "I'm old and washed up, can't run out of sight with a three day headstart, but can still swing a bat." GTFO DH, go back to little league where you're only relevant to get more kids playing in each game and that's only acceptable because there are children involved.

It's like clockwork watching the A's dismantle their roster and stock up on prospects. I'd like them to win a World Series one time just to see what Billy Beane has to do if they actually win.

And the A's continue to prove themselves to be the farm team of the rest of the MLB.

This team will never get anywhere until they leave the shackles of Oakland.

Might be sooner than you think?

Oakland committee votes down change of use on Howard Terminal; still far apart with city of Oakland on agreement.

Meanwhile, in Vegas, the Athletics put an offer on a fifth piece of property. All near resort corridor, some to the east of I-15 (think LVB/The Strip) and others on the west side of I-15 (same side as Allegiant Stadium).

Final yes/no vote for Athletics' plans July 7.

This is all leverage. Vegas will get their team sooner than later, but I’ll be very shocked if it ends up being Oakland.

For the Niners, Colts get Ryan. Saints retain Winston. Falcons sign Mariotta. Outside of Seattle and Carolina ($18 mill to Darnold) I think each team has their starting QB next season on the roster right now.
What is SF going to do with Jimmy?

And Baker Mayfield is waiting to be traded with his $19 mill contract.

John Lynch should be fired for how he’s handled the qb situation his entire tenure here, but this debacle takes the cake. The guy is an egomaniac who has cost the team at least 1 Lombardi already.

If neither of those teams want him then they hold onto him until another teams starter inevitably gets hurt. If he cuts him after all of this then Lynch is even dumber than I imagined.

I can’t see them trading with Seattle. I can’t see Carolina bringing back Darnold after last season. He’ll, SF could take him on for this season as back up if they can make the financials work and elevate the draft pick.

Man wtf deebo!! Smh...Nah, this can't be real life...If Shanny and Lynch can get multiple 1sts or a 1st and two 2nds or something like that, maybe you do it. You then can trade Jimmy for something, pay Bosa and roll into the draft with alot of capital to build this roster even more. Its a deep WR draft but replacing him won't be easy.
