Giants are a possibility. But given they just signed Jones to a large extension, I would be a little surprised if they went QB, especially given all the other areas of need such as WR, OL and Defense.
They can get out of his contract after this year with only like 20 million dead cap.

Draft a rookie
Let the rookie sit for a year and start DJ
Cut DJ after the year and go with the rookie.

3-5 seems to be the sweet spot to me.

I was reading up on this and how his contract is written it would be in the Giants favor to keep him off the field as if he's injured, they're on the hook for more guaranteed/dead cap money going into 2025
NFL contracts are weird lol

Honestly, Arizona has also been linked to some QBs and they seem to be in some sort of purgatory. It wouldn't surprise me if they moved down a bit and took a QB...but more than likely they are going to go WR.

But with the top three teams all linked to a QB, and a bunch of teams in the middle (Minnesota, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Seattle, Denver, Rams) scrambling for one, the price tag is going to be high. The chances of pulling a Carolina is high at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if it costs Minnesota their first and second this year, a first and a third next year and a second somewhere in there to move up. It's going to be eye watering how much it's going to cost to move up

Some people think MHJR is the next Megatron, some think he's just very good at everything. Seems like the right fit for Murray.

Chargers, I see them going OT unless they trade down.

Giants, could be the spot for McCarthy and let him sit behind Lock and Jones for the season. He's not ready to start now.

Titans, roll with Levis.
ATL have Cousins, so should help their D
Chi WR most likely
NYJ - need OT
MIN - hoping McCarthy is there for them would be the ultimate slow play.
Den - team that you have to be worried about jumping you.
LV - might jump you as well

ATL now, likely targeting D. So, most mocks don't rank D players in the top 10. So, they can afford to move down to allow a team to jump the ones from 11-13.

So, does anyone wish that we outbid, or at least matched, ATL's 180M(90M guaranteed)bid for Cousins?

Given the breakdown it's a 2 year deal for $100 mill as the $10 mill roster bonus for year 3 becomes guaranteed in March 2025. After 2 years, if cut, ATL is left with $35 mill of dead cap.

$35 mill base salary for 2026, so that's a $57.5 mill cap charge, which would have to be restructured. Best walk away. 3 years would be $135 Mill in cash.

Wonder if NYG pass on a QB, would ATL be the spot to trade up to ensure that neither Den/LV/NO or someone else jumps them? ATL would likely draft defence and most mocks have 1 defender in the top 10.

Exactly. They can probably go down all the way to 13, get a haul, and still get a top 1-3 defensive player in the draft, unless the NYG take McCarthy at #6, which pretty much negates any reason for teams to trade up anyway.
