Fine with the player as a stop gap but not a fan of the price. Would of rather of had Minshew at 2 years 15 milly guaranteed than this.

Brissett got $8 million from the Pats to fill the same role, which is keeping the QB position warm until whichever rookie is drafted is ready to take over.. Darnold has a bit more upside than Brissett does. I'm ok with this.

Im not on twitter so i cant find it but ive seen that it says "up to 10 million" in some tweets. Can anyone confirm or deny this? If thats the case its not that bad because it means its incentive laden.

With the Commanders and Patriots both signing QBs to 1 year place holder deals, trading up for 1 of the top 3 prospects is looking more and more like a pipe dream.

If the Vikings are able to swing a trade, it's more likely to be somewhere between #4 (Arizona) to #8 (Atlanta)....and hopefully land McCarthy. I'm worried about teams like Denver, Las Vegas and New Orleans also looking at QB and moving up ahead of us and drive the prices up even further.

Yeah, but I've also heard that the Pats are so devoid of talent they're looking to trade back to try to help make up for that void.

Maybe, but signing Brissett to a 1 year deal just smells like them going QB in the draft.

I’d add the Giants to that list as well. I wouldnt totally eliminate them from the QB market as well.

Separate thought: Gotta be a bit of an akward QB room if there’s no market for Fields and both he and Williams are in there at the same time lol.

Giants are a possibility. But given they just signed Jones to a large extension, I would be a little surprised if they went QB, especially given all the other areas of need such as WR, OL and Defense.

I was reading up on this and how his contract is written it would be in the Giants favor to keep him off the field as if he's injured, they're on the hook for more guaranteed/dead cap money going into 2025

Here are the facts: $23 million of Jones' $30 million salary for 2025 was guaranteed for injury at signing. Separately, $12 million of Jones' $30 million salary becomes fully guaranteed if he's on the roster on the fifth day of the 2025 league year
