I wouldn't bother trying to bring him over to play for Hartford. Its not enough time for him to even get comfortable being over here. I'd rather he plays for the national team and ideally the worlds...then if he plans to come over next year, he can spend the whole summer to prepare for it...but to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if he spends 1 more year in sweden. the rangers RHD situation allows them to be patient

His contract expires. He told me his goal is to move to North America and does not intend on signing a new contract with Luleå. If the Rangers want him to stay another year, it would be a ton of fun to see him sign with Skellefteå, the team his father works for as the GM. Give him a bit of a bigger challenge, with a new team.

But I expect him to sign his ELC, spend a year in Hartford, just like Miller, and both moving up to the NHL in 2021

ok well his contract expiring changes things...but I'd still look to have him come over during the summer to get ready for training camp. I wouldn't rush him over to play a couple AHL games.

Part of the decision making is what the prospect wants too. As an example we can see Miller's situation where he seems as can't wait to make a transition. If Lundkvist's heart is set on joining organization this year after his Euro season is over then it should be a part of the decision making re. signing an ATO with Hartford.

agreed...but an american kid moving from wisconsin to hartford is a bit different than lundkvist moving from sweden. for miller its a less drastic change aside from the level of play...a huge factor is when he's available but it seems like a lot to try to rush him in for a couple games.

1. It would be a PTO
2. He needs to be released by the national team first

There's a decent chance he is called up for the NT once Luleå's season is over

1. Yup, PTO
2. I called it his "Euro season" implying both team and national responsibilities, if any.

That's a 4-game goal scoring streak, 5 in his last 6. 11 on the season and 31 points.

Those 31 points are good for 10th by an u19 player (incl forwards) since 1994

Those 4 goals were all identical, he's perfected that shot now

It's great to see him score. It's great to see how much he gets on one-timers and shots from the point in general. But having that much time and space to shoot from that vantage point is a rarity in the NHL. Same with Kakko's and Pujaniemi's goals in Liiga. Just a totally different game with the wider rinks out there.

But it is very exciting to see nonetheless. At this moment, I'd say he and D'Angelo have the most accurate shots from the point on the team. Fox isn't bad, but he doesn't have the power in his shot that Lundkvist and ADA can generate. Trouba gets a ton on his shot, but doesn't have the accuracy.

Have you ever watched Ovechkin? He sets up camp, roasts some marshmellows, heats up some coco and then waits for the puck to one-time it past the goalie, the same way Lundkvist did these past 4 games
