Like i said when your starting 67% of the time in the defensive zone vs 1st opposite line as much you can with a limited team, its not the same challente than playing a limited role on a third pair
Who care if he didn't had the best stats exemple vs matthews if he helped habs to slow him down and at the end beat the leafs who was by far a better team than what habs was? Whos care?

Is Zadorov a top 4 defenseman?
Is he someone we would want to extend at multi year and over $4 million to?

Zadorov is probably somewhere between a 4 and a 5. I think the Leafs need to set the bar a little higher. Practically speaking, I think they are stuck with Kleinberg for the season so their defense is probably closer to...

So while Zadorov is an upgrade on Kleinberg, he isnt strong enough to play Rielly minutes or a significant upgrade to make sense to trade Mccabe or lily for.
Short story is Leads need a top 3 defenseman. I think Tanev makes more sense given his history with Rielly. I would see if we can catch lightning again. Not sure the cost but I think we should be able to package something together to get it done.

McCabe for Zadarov makes sense for Calgary if they're not doing a complete tear down.

Of course it makes sense for Calgary, Z is at best a 5/6 Dman, McCabe is a 3/4 on this roster all day all night.
People, please look at Z for what he is, just another deeply flawed defender that we dont need. He's not a good defender, he is not a good passer, he is not quick, or a high Hockey IQ player or does anything well but being big and he would be our 4th highest paid dman after McCabe and would be relegated to playing the 3rd pairing... he is not the type of player we need.

Big and fast. Seems to be a good team mate and willing stick up. Would be our best open ice hitter in the blue line since Phaneuf. He can play either side. At times he be a pylon if paired with the wrong guy or giving too many minutes. There’s not a lot guys in the league like him in the league anymore and he’s a guy we need but he’ll have to sheltered to make it work. Not trying to say he’s exactly like Phaneuf cause he’s not but there’s some ways he’s like him wheather it’s the good or bad.
He would still be a good add but it would be better if they somehow got Z and Tanev in a package because if we depend on Z too much, he’d likely get exposed.

You aren’t getting perfection on 3 fking million man.
I don't know anything about Z other than Calgary fans being high on him. I'm all for it. We need all the toughness we can get... meaning if he can actually play decent minutes while bring that edge.
