yeah i’m a canucks fan and it’s Kucherov this year. have you seen the bolts defence ??? man is carrying that team on his back so hard it’s weighing him down. they better give it to him. without his scoring they’d potentially be in the basement, no joke.

You want them to give him the Art Ross?

Just a reminder that this thread is about the Art Ross Trophy. AKA the Trophy that goes to the player with the most regular season points. There is not voting, there is no bias.

You're wrong, there is a bias. Some teams just allow Kuch to score freely while play really hard aganst Mac and McD.

I'm not going to repost all of the tables. But with 4 points tonight, McDavid is now 6 points behind Kucherov (with one game in hand). He's also 5 points behind MacKinnon (with two games in hand).

Updated odds - Kucherov is at 49% (down from 55%), MacKinnon is at 27% (down from 32%) and McDavid is at 32% (up from 22%).
Update again?

Will post the same as the other thread. Mac will win. Good Canadian boy that has almost no personal hardware. Voters will be itching to give it to him.
There's no "GIVING" the Art Ross. I do wonder how many people here don't understand the difference between Art Ross and Hart Trophy.

Kuch is winning the Hart lmao, last time I checked he's factored on 49.16% of Tampa's goals, pretty much of half of them lol. Might as well accept it at this point

Now it's 50.16% LMAO

Kucherov doing what he has to do to leave no doubt in the Hart discussion. If you lead the points race by double digits and factor into 50% of your teams offense, you'd better win the trophy or it's a sham.
we've seen a lot worse -Lemieux was in on 49% of the Pen's goals and led the pts by a whopping 31 over Gretzky and still lost out on the hart.

FWIW I think its close for the Hart right now. I do believe MacKinnon has a larger overall impact on the game that pure counting stats don't show. That said, Kucherov is obviously paying out of his mind and if he were to win the AR by 10+ pts that could swing a lot of votes in his favor. I don't think either one winning it this year would be a "sham" as both are putting up insane seasons.

Kucherov now has 111 points over his last 58 games since starting the season with 11 in 10. That’s a 1.91 PPG.

If he were to somehow keep that up down the stretch, he could flirt with 150.

And that would make for an interesting argument for years to come when comparing it McDavid’s 153.

its very much still up for debate. Kuchis having an amazing season no doubt, but I would still put it at 50/50. The last 13 games will decide it this year, nobody has run away with it yet.

Take Mackinnon off the avs and they are probably still making the playoffs. Take kuch off the bolts and they are a bottom feeder for sure.

You're like the 100th person to say this. Its a good argument, but its been shown historically that it isn't the only thing that matters with the Hart. I have considered all sides and I would currently put the hart at 50/50. A lot can still happen too

That's pretty absurd. What was the reasoning there?

the narrative was that Gretzky carried the Kings to the playoffs in his first year, but Lemieux also took the pens to the playoffs for the first time as well.

Basically Gretzky winning in his 1st year on the Kings was what the media and fans alike wanted
