Yup. Robertson was great but that's no reason at all for people to start dumping on Malgin. They're both part of our team and as long as that is the case, I'm rooting for all of them.

Definitely the most positive development of the season to this point. Go Ilya Go!

Oh FFS, get a grip. The 1st period was fine, It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either and at the end of the day, we outplayed them by a good margin and won the game. It's all good brah, be happy.
Relax cupcake. The first was aweful.

The Leafs were outshot 11-6 and out chanced 12 -0 i believe.

They did come out firing on all cylinders in the 2nd with 9 unanswered shots.

You're the one that called me out for calling this an ugly win. Grow some thicker skin or better yet, ignore posts that you don't agree with.

Oh for sure, those are the kinds of games you want to bank points if you're going for the 1 seed and an easier first round opponent. The Leafs need to start winning those, but they don't seem interested in that.

Samsonov looks incredible, he's a lot more composed than I assumed. Hopefully he keeps this going, maybe a change of scenery is what he needed

If you are implying that effort is a problem with this group, it is not. For example, Matthews is really struggling but he is still laying out hits, blocking shots, and working hard to get his opportunities. Man just can't score for ****. A lazy player is not doing what Matthews is doing right now. Even Marner looks like he is "trying", but the guy is just playing like an idiot. If we are going to complain, at least complain about the right things.

4th line too. Tons of hits. Working and skating hard. Just not playing smart or with any kind of skill. I expected more out of them defensively, and even that is not going well for them.

Overhandling pucks. Overpassing. Missing passes. Missing shots. That is killing us more than anything right now, and that is not a lack of effort. If anything, that is trying too hard.

Marner doesn't have a heavy shot with zip on it like Robertson/Matthews. Those types requires a level of respect Marner's shot doesn't have

Speaking of Marner scoring, he needs to go back to what made him so good last year. He's overpassing a fair amount right now imo, he needs to shoot more and make plays for himself as wel
Yep.... that play doesn't happen with Marner on the ice instead of Robertson. No way.
So you need to crap on other players instead of just enjoying the win ok I got it now

Yeah not getting a shot on 4 PPs when we have full control of the zone for almost 2 minutes is a skill issue, it's not like they're failing to get the zone because they're being lazy on the boards.

Like I said buttercup, in the end we outplayed them by a good margin and won the game. If that's ugly in your world, go ahead and be you.

I merely stated my opinion which is different from yours. If that bothers you so much then you're the one who needs to grow some thicker skin, or take your other suggestion and ignore my posts. Either that or suck it up, buttercup.

I think Robertson is about to explode. That's exciting news because we have had cap concerns and could really use a break through player to help push the team to the next level.

Even if Murray is a dud, it is looking more and more likely that Samsonov is going to be a success story.

Give me Simmonds over Aube-Kubel next game. They need more passion from the 4th line. After watching ZAR and Aube-Kubel for awhile now I feel we may have taken for granted Simmonds intangibles. He may not have much left in the tank, but they're not an upgrade imo. They got lucky he cleared waivers and that he is available now.

Your mascara will run 😝

There's such thing as Malgin fanboys?

I don't think Malgin has looked great, but he definitely has the skill to be a good player, I wouldn't mind him rotating in, but Robertson, if he keeps playing like that, keep him in the lineup, rotate ZAR, Engvall, NAK, Malgin, and see what works.

Malgin earned and deserved his shot, and really it’s only a four game sample set. For as long as we can keep him up, he can stay with the team. He’s insurance for any injuries for now. Whether he gets in the lineup again is hard to say.

While it seems unlikely, you’d hate to see another Barabanov situation where the guy goes elsewhere and puts up 46 points in 80 games.

That being said, we could use the contract slot, so he’ll get moved at some point, though I wouldn’t expect much value in return.
