It is sad that the young kid has to be the one to spark the team to victory... but it is great we have a young kid who can spark the team to victory.

Marner looked like a guy trying to do too much. Might have been the worst game I have seen him play... at least one of them. Wasn't lack of effort, just really trying to make plays that were not there... forcing it. He clearly got the retracted message, questionable response. Only player who might have been worse, ZAR.

Pretty Very lackluster effort in the first period, but Dallas wasn't much better.

BS overturn on the Segin goal imo. First PP is putrid. S-i-m-p-l-i-f-y.

Thought the team played hard, but it is a struggle right now. Good win. Stuck with it and didn't give up too much. Thought Samsonov was very good when called upon.

I guess it is a good thing we are still .600 with them playing like ass.

The unfortunate thing is that we easily should have been perfect. We lost to Montreal and Arizona, and their inability to be a factor offensively is a big part of that.

Thank goodness for Samsonov too. He is so calm and confident right now.
Oh for sure, those are the kinds of games you want to bank points if you're going for the 1 seed and an easier first round opponent. The Leafs need to start winning those, but they don't seem interested in that.

Samsonov looks incredible, he's a lot more composed than I assumed. Hopefully he keeps this going, maybe a change of scenery is what he needed

We win in spite of Keefe not because of him.

Robbie had 3 shifts away from Tavares. In those 3 shifts he had 3 opportunities and 2 goals.

I don't think people comprehend how much better Nylander and Robertson are without Tavares.
if Johnny wasn't making 11m he'd be a 3rd line winger

Willie has to go at half speed so JT can at least try to keep up with the play ,

In the NHL a PP without a point shot is not going to work especially in playoffs. Need someone who can slap from the point and keep the opposition PK honest and not aways cheat towards Matthews to take away his shot
ye its an issue, he doesnt shoot and he tends to telegraph his passes, riellys best asset offensively is his ability on the rush and there isnt much of that on a PP, his shot and vision are pedestrian imo. sandin was intrumental in our PP goal tonight with a low hard shot on net that caused a big rebound.

I like you and all but seriously enough with this. This is getting annoying. Malgin deserved a chance and now Robertson is getting his chance. Thats all there is to it.
Also Malgin is still staying especially if bottom 6 won't provide much.
Yup. Robertson was great but that's no reason at all for people to start dumping on Malgin. They're both part of our team and as long as that is the case, I'm rooting for all of them.

I love Robertson, but it's also nice that Samsonov has only looked good in his games so far. Hopefully that continues
Definitely the most positive development of the season to this point. Go Ilya Go!

Did you even watch the wole game?

First period was shaping up alot like the Coyotes games.

They woke up in the second. But the top line just isn't getting it done. PP also needs some work.

The OT goal was a beauty!

Build on this
Oh FFS, get a grip. The 1st period was fine, It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either and at the end of the day, we outplayed them by a good margin and won the game. It's all good brah, be happy.

Dubas was wild in the press box too, never seen him so dishevelled and unglued. Sleep well Kyle.
Dubie's feeling the heat but i doubt he'd be fired this early so it's likely he knows Shanny has his bestie on a very short leash , especially with Trotz out there ,

I saw one of them hanging out in the exec suite in the arena. the dude with glasses

I don't think Malgin has looked great, but he definitely has the skill to be a good player, I wouldn't mind him rotating in, but Robertson, if he keeps playing like that, keep him in the lineup, rotate ZAR, Engvall, NAK, Malgin, and see what works.

I think Tavares and Matthew's would be better together myself. I agree that Nylander and Tavares don't seem to gel well.

Also agree that we win in spite of Keefe.

There's a reason why everyone in the building knows where Ovie is on a PP yet somehow he still gets his looks.

Trotz doesn't come in without a GM he knows or some level of input on the roster like Babcock negotiated imo.
