I don't think people comprehend how much better Nylander and Robertson are without Tavares.

I do agree. Everything Tavares does is slow, double-clutching, and just a split second behind where it should be. At this level I imagine it's very hard to play with. He's gotta clean it up. It looks hard for him.

Where are the Malgin fanbois at?

I still think he should rotate in, but not for Roberson if he keeps playing like that. Malgin has high end skill and can be a good player, experiment in the bottom 6 and see what can happen.

The one thing that comes to mind is that historically he usually starts his seasons off playing the worst hockey of the year.

An annoying habit to say the least especially from a player like him. But ideally he'll shake it off sooner rather than later

Robertson was amazing. Another solid start from Samsonov too....

Despite the doom and gloom in the GDT, this ended up a pretty good game for the team minus some lackluster play from the first line for part of it

First period was shaping up alot like the Coyotes games.

They woke up in the second. But the top line just isn't getting it done. PP also needs some work.

The OT goal was a beauty!

We need to get Robertson more PP time as well. The big unit isn't working very well, split them up and balance the PP a little.

Move Engvall to the 4th line. Put Malgin with Kerfoot and Jarnkrok.

4th line has been ass except for hitting people, and it is no surprise that they were caved in again today. Let ZAR and NAK compete for their jobs with each other. We have no time or room for physical players who can't play.

2-for-one. 3rd line gets better offensively. 4th line gets better defensively.

There were definitely a few minutes where that seemed to be the case. But I think if we were to all rewatch the game, the leafs were the better team for far more of it than they weren't.

Yeah, he's been steady. I think it's going to be of upmost importance to keep him in a rhythm and feeling good, but for the love of God, don't drive him into the ground. The less he has to play (while keeping in a rythmn) the better for us.

You're right he rarely starts thr season with jump, but tonight was a challenge for him to step up and he responds with his worst game in years.
