Great game for the kid tonight, he showed some jam, he thinks the game really well, his skating has really improved and oh my that shot!

I think he stays as long as there's cap space.

Dubas will only make room for him if he keeps paying off. If he gets cold, it'll be the excuse he needs to send him back down once everyone is healthy. It's easier than moving a contract

OT winner for the kid, 2 goals in his first game. Started 4 games late but if the kid can stick on the 2nd line with Tavares and Nylander you gotta think he could be a Calder contender

was hoping for Samsonov to take the starting job from Murray but didn't expect it to happen this quick.

He looks like he has learned to quiet down and let the game come to him, and be athletic when needed.

Feels like theres room for Malgin while our bottom 3 wingers (even Kampf) can rotate in/out until they find some urgency in their games.

Absolutely should be what happens.

Don't bench Engvall before moving him to the 4th line. He may be what that 4th line needs, and there is prior success with Kampf there.

NAK and ZAR have been our worst forwards and haven't earned any more opportunities.

Realistically neither should be in the lineup right now based on how they played through 5 games, but maybe one of them can make it work on a line with Engvall and Kampf. That is the guy who gets to play.

Once Liljegren is back this team will be ok. They really lack a dynamic RH Dman like him back there who was really finding his groove playing with the top 2 lines before Keefe must've hot his head or something and decided Holl and Boosh were better alternatives

Sit Engvall and ZAR in Winnipeg. Get Simmonds and another call up into the line up. We need some toughness especially if Robertson can add another offensive punch.

You want the bigger boys in the line-up against a physical and dirty team like the Jets for sure

I hope Keefe and management have learned a lesson. Play your best players and ditch retreads. Robbie showed passion and hustle all night. Relentless on the forecheck, and he’s got a great shot to boot. Wtf were they thinking keeping Malgin over him??? Robbie played equally well in preseason but shows more heart and has a greater upside. Why would you not start this guy from the start.

Man I really hope Samsonov continues his play and becomes the long term solution in net for the Leafs (he’s only 25!).

Seriously though, how about we don't heap huge expectations on the kid. Let him develop in peace over the next 77 games and hope he can be a substantial contributor when it really counts - in the playoffs.

If he sticks its not out of the question , Bunting did it last year and with that shot I don't think that would be over hyping him. 71 games playing with those guys makes it a real possibility. Had I said 21 goals....well maybe that would've been asking for the .oon and Stars.
