That call on the goalie interference was still horseshit, despite the fact we won. Mitch leaning on Seguin doesn't make Tyler use his right arm to push Samsonov.

Beyond that, if it takes you nearly 10 minutes to make a call then it isn't conclusive enough to overturn. Hope Dallas enjoys the free point.

also, sandin i thought played a great game tonight.
I’m telling you all he needs is opportunity he plays a better game then rielly to me not that rielly looked too bad himself today he’s just not as physical as sandman and holl didn’t look too bad beside I wanna see him and lily together on that second pair

Clearly more than most on this board do.

You are using circumstantial evidence... He scored one in OT and the other at the end of a PP.

The 2nd line was by far our best today... With Tavares on it. Has been the case for most of this year, with or without Robertson on the line.

If you thought the 2nd line was brutal, you didn't watch the game or have a very odd definition of what "brutal" means. The 4th line was brutal. The top line was brutal. The 3rd line was brutal at times. The 2nd line was far from brutal.

I think I was a bit to dismissive to your counter point but I strongly disagree that Tavares is a fit with Robertson.

Very small sample size but

Robertson without J.T: 164 ppg pace in 2 minutes of ice time.
Robertson last year with Tavares: 16 ppg.

Nylander away from Tavares: 109 point pace
Nylander with Tavares: 72 point pace.

So I just strongly disagree that Tavares is a fit with Nylander and Robertson. But I'm not just using that small sample size. The eye test also shows they don't look good together. When Robertson and Nylander played together in preseason with Kerfoot, the 3 of them dominated and Robbie had 3 assists that game. Tonight on only 3 shifts away from Tavares, Robertson had 2 goals in 1:12 of ice time. Robertson has done all his damage in very limited minutes away from Tavares. Nylander and Robertson excel when they are making fast plays on both the rush and in a wide cycle in the o-zone where as Tavares is slower and benefits from a tight cycle and getting pucks in the slot. They are diametrically opposite in how they create offense. Tavares has 2 points at 5 on 5 this year. It's not working. I just don't see how anyone can come to the conclusion that Robertson or Nylander are a good fit with Tavares when they are so different.

Really really happy for Robertson. Here’s to hoping he can keep up the production! We need him

They don’t just wave off goals because somebody made contact with the goalie. The contact has to have prevented the goalie an opportunity to make the save.

Having said that, it’s nice to see Samsonov and Robertson carry the team to victory. It’s especially great to see Robertson’s new found ability to work with his linemates.

The first line has been awful all year. People are still blinded by Matthews’ season last year.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Robertson - Matthews - Nylander
Bunting - Tavares - Marner

Why? OT was a good example of why Robertson would excel next to Matthews. Matthews will draw in defenders because they are expecting him to shoot. Matthews has great passing abilities and if he was finishers on his line if he decides to pass shots up it makes it a bit more deadly.

You also can't push a goalie to knock a puck in too FWIW

Was At the game today , a couple of takeaways

Reilly makes far too many poor decisions in o-zone, needs off PP1 immediately

Matthews Marner need to be split, Marner was awful today

Tavares looked like he was handling a grenade

Engvall needs to go asap

Mete looked like a formidable #6

Robertson was great

Thanks for the report. Glad ya got to see a win.

Yes, that’s included as preventing the goalie from making the save.

The puck appears to come loose when Marner made contact and before Seguin extended his arms. The angle shown in that tweet hides the location of the puck, but on other angles, it was clearly knocked loose before the Seguin shove.

I missed the game, only saw the one replay above. What was the call on the ice?

Maybe unclear evidence to overturn?

It's refreshing to me that there's actually a few people on these boards that actually understand hockey. These lines are great.

Call on the ice was no goal.

Just saw the replay in real time.. yikes that's really close.

What gets me is that Seguin clearly makes a push on Samsonov during that sequence. But what that did is throw Samsonov's balance off and in catching his balance, Samsonov gave the puck the extra kick that put the puck into the net.

The puck may not have gone in so quickly without that extra little tap.

Again, not seeing the clear evidence to overturn the call.

Happy for Roberston. He's done well in the AHL and worked hard. Hope this is his springboard into become a quality NHLer for the Leafs.

Love that it was against his brother. Have to think this matchup was playing in the back of Keefe's head when he decided to hive Malgin one last chance earlier in the week.

It’s basically what all the other top teams are doing. Tampa runs very similar lines. The Rangers are probably the team that does it the best. Panarin and Zabinejad are so effective at this.

We don’t need Matthews to score 60 goals. We need him to drive offense. Whether that’s passing or scoring. I’d love to see Matthews reunited with Nylander but I just know it’s not going to happen. He wants his set up guy Marner
