Niagara didn’t keep those picks for Zito very long. They jsut tossed them plus a couple more over to Mississauga for Lavoie.

Basically Zito for Lavoie. Considering Lavoie is a year younger, probably not a bad deal really…. Get an extra year out of Lavoie if he plays an OA season.

i just came to ask about this trade. it seems like a strange move to make for a team bidding for a mem cup next year. he seems like a strong OA candidate for next year no?

That’s a very puzzling trade. Good price for a seemingly good scorer
Yeah, I am a bit surprised no other team was willing to go as high as 3, 6. I hope he has a good year and a half in the Soo.
The trade is not puzzling though. It was between Castle, Lavoie, Sirrizotti, Agonestelli, and Dann for four RW spots.

Agonestelli has 6 points in 15 games this year with a career best .40 pts/game. It seems like he'd be the odd man out if that was the case but I guess that's why I'm not an OHL GM.

None of those guys could have played off wing?

Maybe if the Soo was willing to give a good pick for Niagara’s 4th RW, Agonestelli would be the odd kid out

theres a good chance the gm only asked one team lmao

Every team in the history of hockey has guys play there offwing. Someone tell yoru coach that. And even if niagara is the first team ever where nobody can play there off wing, Sirizoti is better than all of those guys but maybe castle

I’m not sure how left or right shot got to be the discussion. One RW had to go, and it was going to be a 19 yr old that was not a lock for an OA spot.
Since the first coach was let go, Dann has been removed from the Fimis-Castle line and PP1, then from LW to RW.
The depth chart now looks something like:
Copeland-Fimis-Castle
He-Michaud-Lavoie
Waddick/Leblanc-Dann
Hull-Podolioukh-Agonestelli

Sirizzotti was a good skater but serious lack of hockey sense. Very rarely in the right spot at the right time. Came out of the gate well but has trailed off since.

Who else is on their way out? If you are building for next season wouldn’t you be looking to acquire a high end 04?

Maybe the better question is who are the high end 04's? After Lavoie arrives we will have 4 of the top 20 draft picks.

the flores deal was awful, a very average goalie who was not good enough THIS YEAR in london for a 2nd and a 5th?
Although I do not disagree Flores struggled badly in London last season he really was thrown to the wolves by the Knights. When Brochu went down it was a monumental issue as Londons defense was weak and designed to have Brochu bail them out. Brochu hid these glaring issues on the Dee with the level of his play. Pretty much any goaltender was going to struggle in this scenario, never mind a youngster with next to no OHL experience. I felt bad for not only Flores but the 2-3 other kids they were forced to throw out there. Trading Onuska in hindsight was not a great move when looking back.
