Oof! And leave no doubt that there was much more to Dubas. Who knew!?!Plot Twist:

folks here were saying that NHL is not looking into this but this article says they are too.
Plot thickens!
Well, looks really bad for all parties involved if collusion has been occurring based on the rules cited.
That is what I thought was strange
Dubas also wanted the Colorado job and Shanahan blocked him
Dubas contract ends
No trades kick in
Was he preparing for his big move if it didn't work out Mathews follows him ?
They’re kicking in because they have reached 7 years in the NHL and it’s the first year they are eligible for them.what would be hilarious IMO would be if they agents only got the wind of this when Shanny used "dubas' agent" blurb in the presser; otherwise it would have gone unnoticed
what i'd like to know is:
1) when dubas signed his first deal who was his agent; did he even have one?
2) when he signed matthews' contract who was dubas' agent and how is it that dubas structured the contracts in a way that the NMCs/NTCs would kick in for Matthews, Marner and Nylander all at the same time as his contract is about to expire
I think someone in the MLSE is about to be fired for not "thinking things through" when signing off

The only mastermind behind the timing is the Gregorian calendar.

Aren't these all negotiated ?They’re kicking in because they have reached 7 years in the NHL and it’s the first year they are eligible for them.

They were for these guys. No world they don’t get them.NMC/NTCs are a privilege they are not a guarantee btw...
I couldn't help noticing that you didn't actually explain in any way why this thread is embarrassing. And we all know you never will. You just used ridicule rhetoric in an effort to stifle this discussion. And that seems to have failed.
It is actually Shanny who leaked the story to prevent the "optics" of Mathews leaving. Now he will sign with the Leafs cheaply to avoid the cloud of uncertainty.Plot Twist:

When things like this come out straight to the media within a week of Dubas leaving MLSE, it's not an accident. MLSE don't appear to be playing around. If there's another Dubas-was-done-dirty media rumour floated, who knows what else MLSE has in the chamber? Kyle Dubas would not be the first hockey guy to be made persona non grata.
Interestingly none of the pro-dubas media types are retweeting this but couldn’t wait to retweet that Shanahan blocked Dubas’ trades
Read the article. It doesn't matter that you personally see no conflict. It's undisputed that if two certified agents work for the same firm, that it is 100% a conflict.
The only thing that is potentially saving Dubas/the agent is that the agent was not NHLPA certified and thus not necessarily subjected to the same rules.
Nylander got that famous verbal NMC when he signed.
