The Metro just doesn’t lose, unless it’s to each other. Pens and Rangers beat the Canucks and Wild and the Devils beat the Canes. Isles get a loser point against the Stars.
Jets also lost to the Red Wings and Avs lost to the Panthers.

Cheers for the help, West.

Metro being by far the best division also makes it likely that Blue Jackets are going to have pretty good chance to bring Bedard to Metro.

wow Samsonov is a fragile little bird isn't he? Ever since he got torched on his return to the Caps arena he's been trash. Leafs lose 1-4 to the Red Wings

Bad:

It's going to come down to head-to-head match-up's...

February:

vs. :canes
vs. :panthers
@ :canes
vs. :wings
vs. :rangers
@ :sabres

March:

vs. :devils
@ :isles
@ :rangers
vs. :sabres
@ :pens
vs. :isles

April:

Isles and Sabres falling off the wagon before late february would be great.

The ‘Peg up 3-1 in the ‘Burgh after two. C’mon Jets, hang in there.

Also can we talk about how dumb it is that the same coaches keep getting recycled through the league? Paul Maurice had the Jets looking broken and dysfunctional contemplating a tear down rebuild to competing for the Central Division this year. He took over a Florida team that won the PT last year and they’re tracking to miss the playoffs this year.

That dude must be a hell of an interviewee.

Habs beat the Rangers. Clearly Gallant can’t make personnel decisions, and should be fired tomorrow, if not sooner! /s

EDIT: Canes lose to the woeful Nucks in the SO. Wow, and they lost to CBus the other day! These things never happen on random days in January.

Rod has clearly lost the room - I mean, how can these snowflakes, err players be expected to perform if they don’t know where they stand in the SO order?!

Come on man, Brindamore isn’t scratching Svech over Kotki same for Gallant. That’s not at all what people are complaining about and you know it.

It’s not that they’re losing sure it doesn’t help but the scratch of a center who has been performing over someone who all have been critical of doesn’t sit right.

I heard those coaches shuffled some lines also, those idiots!!!! Oh the humanity of it all! ;)

It’s called a joke Francis….get over yourself, lighten up a little!
If you had any plausible reason to make it I'd probably shrug it off. "Joking" because you can't make a real point isn't that.

Don't see you taking things lightly when you're not hearing what you want.

lmfao playing what? do you guys have a group message or something?
No, actually I’ve never really gotten along with Goon and have never once messaged him privately. But hey, keep making stuff up in your head man.

I’d actually prefer to talk hockey instead of the shit you and your homey are miring this forum in, you all just can’t move on.

How is "those are bad lines" not hockey, and why is the only thing you seem to rely on some variant of "Laviolette did it so it must make sense"?

This contract cannot bode well for teams expecting more sanity to come to contract extensions.

The Minnesota Wild have some good news for fans on a Monday morning. Matt Boldy has signed a seven-year extension, keeping him locked up through the 2029-30 season. The $49MM deal will carry an average annual value of $7MM and avoids any restricted free agency with the young forward. It does not include any signing bonuses. PuckPedia has the full breakdown:

  • 2023-24: $8.0MM
  • 2024-25: $9.7MM
  • 2025-26: $7.7MM
  • 2026-27: $6.0MM
  • 2027-28: $5.96MM
  • 2028-29: $5.82MM + 10-team NTC
  • 2029-30: $5.82MM + 10-team NTC
It’s hard to find a more worthwhile young player to extend around the league, as Boldy has been excellent for Minnesota since the moment he entered the lineup. Last season as a rookie, skating mostly beside Kevin Fiala, Boldy managed 39 points in 47 games. He was credited as a huge reason why his linemate finally reached a consistent performance, and it helped Fiala land a massive contract of his own.

This time around, he hasn’t had quite the same level of offensive teammates, most often hitting the ice with 29-year-old undrafted center Frederick Gaudreau. Still, Boldy has 12 goals and 29 points in 42 games, good enough for fourth on the Wild.

I mean….his first 89 games in the NHL, 27g 68 pts. Clubs are tripping over themselves trying to lock into cost certainty early. If you believe it’s a guy who is going to contribute big for this deal + more maybe, you commit.

Some really nice talent coming into the NHL recently, with the contract timing to get paid much earlier than in the past…..
