I'm no Trotz stan, but the Islanders have had absurd injury and COVID luck, plus that planned exile from home to start the season. And his recent playoff record is immaculate.

Demko couldn't close out SO in bottom of 3rd, eventually blow the 2nd point

I love the fact that we have a chance to potentially eliminate them from playoff contention with a regulation win tonight.

For what it’s worth, from a GAR perspective Vrana is having a quite ordinary season. As expected his offensive contributions are really good but he truly is a very weak defender.
I joke around a bit and troll when Vrana has a big game, but I think Mantha is probably the better player on Washington. They need playdrivers and Mantha is more of a playdriver than Vrana appears to be.
I’ve officially upgraded the trade from “necessary but disappointing” to “legitimate upgrade.” Now hopefully Mantha can have a big postseason. He was on the verge last year but had absolutely no help from his teammates. Hopefully this year with a healthy squad they can have a more cohesive attack.

Losing two truly great players from the early days of the Caps within a week of one another. Glad to have seen them on the ice. Had to attend at least one Habs-Caps match each season at Cap Centre.

As a kid one of the first issues of Sports Illustrated I got with my subscription had Guy Lafleur on the cover, his flo waving as he skated so fast in the image. I was always a fan of his after reading that article. 1977 it was. Found the image. RIP Flower, a great one for sure.
