Wait what?! Forslund is gonna call Kraken games? I thought he left Carolina to get the NBC gig... Or maybe it's because NBC is dumping it's SN???

I thought Carolina basically low-balled him because they wanted to save money? He likely would’ve been in Tampa (confirmed he turned it down) if TBL had been willing to let him do national work too. Great singing for the Kraken. I assume it’ll be Kenny and/or Forslund for the SCF.

I don't know the details, so take this with a grain of salt, but I assume the Vegas situation doesn't involve a blatant flouting of the protocols. Our guys blew off the rules, so we're not entitled to a postponement for that. If Vegas' players got exposed without anyone obviously breaking the rules, then why would they be punished?

Maybe punishment was the wrong word. They guys had to quarantine because of the state guidelines and of course, Sammy actually has Covid, so he's gonna be out until he has repeated negative viral-load tests. But the league isn't inclined to do them any favors when they did this to themselves and thumbed their noses at the rules that the league AND the players had jointly agreed. That's all I'm saying.

Carolina effectively didnt offer him a contract for this season. His deal ran out and he was hired to do the Canes playoff bubble games. They are using their version of Rob Carlin and Tripp Tracy for the games. They have a barely out of college female from NC State doing pre and post game and between periods. Their analyst is a former 3rd tier player in his first tv gig. From Forslund to that

He's been a PR nightmare but it does seem curious given his on-ice play. Can't imagine they just cut him out of nowhere given they've stood by plenty of his... antics off the ice until now.

The Rangers have been terrible but DeAngelo is one of their bright spots in terms of advanced analytics. His GF% is awful but he also has the lowest PDO on the team and his goalies are saving a team-worst 75% of shots when he's on the ice which seems to be more of a case of being unlucky over a small sample size given he has their 5th best xGF%, 4th best CF%, and 9th best HDCF%.

Sounds about right. He has always been a headcase which sucks. The offensive talent is borderline elite.

That's one of the reasons they'd eventually re-signed Kreider after all the rumors that they'd trade him in his contract year. The guy is a heart and soul of that franchise.
