I first grew to loathe this f***er way back in the 1987 playoffs when his scummy routine of "scoring" a goal in the Flyers' net at the end of warm-ups caused a legendary brawl. Everything he's done since then has only intensified my spite, including his audacity to procreate and raise a current Flyer.

With my next selection, to spite my spite forwards even more, I'm going to tie a boat anchor to them. Don't even bother reminding me that they won't play together or anything, just let me live with the fantasy that there's going to be some epic spite tourney of ineptitude that causes all of these guys to quit the sport in shame to go look instead for an easy gig as a Flyers beat writer.

Now, @Magua made a well-reasoned argument that one shouldn't just hold a guy's inability to play the sport against him if he's giving it the old college try, because after all he didn't give himself a contract or feed himself minutes he doesn't deserve.

I kind of had this thing earlier where my spite picks were at least people I reasonably respected. I did not respect Patrick Kaleta. This guy never saw an opportunity to cheapshot that he didn’t like. Eventually he started using his head, which proved how stupid he was too. This is not a case of ‘oh, you would love him if he was on your team.’ No. I was petrified the day the Sabres came to their senses and waived him thinking we’d claim him. I think I’ve proven that with other guys who actually did come through and move on. Few, if any, played the game with less honor, and deserved to play in the league even less.

The Buffalo Sabres - I do not like them. Fewer things have made me happier than seeing that miserable franchise bring such misery to their fans, and I’m glad it will go on at least another year.

This was a great pick. He dirtbagged the Devils after winning the Conn Smythe and got another Cup out of it.

In the future, people may look back and consider this pick prophetic considering what will likely happen in terms of managing the Flyers franchise. I am prepared for despair.

Or if things do go well I can claim that I took him so that I can trade him to @Lord Defect if he picks something I want.
