My (very lonely) Hill to Die On: The Last Jedi is not only a good movie, it's a top 5 Star Wars film.

You know something? That stupid shit in the casino makes it impossible for me to say I "like" that movie. That part turned me off so bad. Also, that Millennial Rose dipshit survived when her hot sister didn't? F*** off, you know?

I have exactly 6 issues with it

• Luke tossing aside the lightsaber at the beginning. It was a stupid gag that wasn't amusing.
• The forced love plot with Finn & Rose
• The stupid antics by Holdo with regards to Poe
• The Leia force flying scene
• The Canto Bite nonsense
• Killing off Luke

There's a good movie somewhere in there but mistakes were made

I understand points 3-5. 3 is probably the weakest part for me. 4 only worked for me in light of Carrie Fisher's passing as some sort of meta-tribute and I probably would have hard a much harder time with it if she had not passed. The Casino bit is frequently listed as a huge problem, including multiple mentions here, but it's fine to me. Not great, mind you, but fine.

Luke tossing the saber at the beginning is a statement of purpose. People hate on Rose and I have no idea why. I'm a fan of her pluck and Kelly Marie Tran was done wrong. Killing off Luke, or rather having him transcend the physical realm, was not a mistake. There was nothing left to do with the character.

I didn't hate Rose or Kelly Marie Tran, I just thought it was a stupid scene. She comes out of nowhere somehow and then tells someone she just meant she loves him? Stop it.

I respect your opinion on Luke's death, but it felt anti-climatic to me. They did has character a disservice overall. They bring him back after 35 years, turn him into a miserable curmudgeon, then kill him off after one semi-cool scene? Did Rian Johnson have a vendetta against Mark Hamill or something? lol
