FOG Team Children's Toy

THE GOD DAMN SUPER SOAKER

If you were a child in the early to mid-90's and didn't have one of these bad boys, your parents didn't like you. Super Soaker wars were a summer staple in my neighborhood. Now they'll be a fun way for our players and their families to cut loose in the Quackhood.

We'd drive around and soak random people on the street with these during the summer.

Trying to think of children’s toys I had, and there wasn’t many outside of sone stuffed animals, action figures, video games and a good old fashioned deck of cards (along with various other card and board games) but one thing I had was the little times golf set, which I used less for golf and more to pretend they were weapons for pretending I was Casey Jones or a ninja turtle. So, I’ll go with that.

Kind of surprised how easy it was to find a photo that was very close to what I had 30+ years ago

"The owners of the Halifax Galleons were thrilled that some of our fellow Quackverse owners dipped into Scripture this round for selections of trees and apples. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (Genesis 2:17) and its forbidden fruit were particularly inspired. We will happily carry on this mini-theme but go to the other end of the book: the Tree of Life.

The+Tree+Of+Life+-+Revelations+22+verse+14.jpg

"Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations." - Revelation 22:1-2

"If you haven't ever read Revelation, it's a thrill ride and much more than just the origin of 666 to identify the Antichrist. The 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse, global-scale natural disasters, dragons, locusts with human faces, lion's teeth, and scorpion stingers (yikes!), and wars to end all wars (literally). After the devil and all evil have been defeated, we are presented with a picture of the new heaven and new earth, with the Holy City at its centre. In the Holy City is the Tree of Life as a symbol of the undoing of all of the chaos and awfulness that the picking of the fruit from the TOTKOGAE initiated (symbolism versus literalism is a very long conversation)."

"Whip us around, @Hollywood Cannon, and I'll pick things up on the other side."

Thank you for the warm welcome, Bern.

We turn to Dumb And Dumber to select our Team Movie Quote. This one was completely improvised in the movie as the two guys standing there weren't even extras. Jim Carrey just ran with it. It's something that I use pretty much daily at some point.

"Big Gulps, huh? Well, see ya later!"

Next we're going to look at the Team Vegetable category and select something that fits in well with our Team Holiday.

We're talking, of course, about Pumpkins.

Shout out to @Beef Invictus. No you're not up but I couldn't post that gif without tagging you.

@BernieParent let's turn this around!

Skyrizi is a banger.
New category: best list of adverse events in a pharmaceutical commercial.

"To get this category out of the way, the owners of the Halifax Galleons are somewhat pleased to choose as our Team Nut the chestnut.

"Not only are chestnuts a delicious treat, especially around Christmas time -- thanks, Nat King Cole! -- but they are rich in nutrients that have been linked to many health benefits. These include improved heart health, digestive health, blood sugar control, and more. Chestnuts are a good source of many vitamins and minerals, such as copper, manganese, vitamin B6, vitamin C, thiamine, folate, riboflavin, and potassium. They are also a good source of fiber, with 15% of your daily needs in 10 roasted chestnuts. Compared with most other nuts, chestnuts contain fewer calories because they are low in fat. They are also higher in carbs than most nuts and contain a good amount of fiber, providing 15% of your daily needs in one serving.

"An additional interesting fact: home-grown chestnuts largely disappeared from the US after a blight in the early 20th century killed nearly 4 billion chestnut trees. However, researchers at Michigan State University successfully cultivated blight-resistant American chestnut trees and they have also introduced European and Asian varieties that can produce in the US.

"One caution: do not confuse chestnuts with conkers (see below), which are produced by the horse chestnut tree. Conkers are inedible and toxic. They are also covered by a hard spiny covering that make them an effective projectile weapon.

"Guess which type of chestnut tree we have in our backyard, @GKJ!"

Yeah the photo I got says it was from Amazon. The only difference I notice is that the little things you shoot into were also blue. I think everything was blue actually, except the spot on the club you’re supposed to hit the ball.

Hi. I'm a Palpatine. Nice to meet you. How you doin'?

giphy.gif

We start the day with @GKJ on the clock, @Striiker on deck, Starberry on the lido deck, and Chuckles on the lido afterdeck. @Asnito has to get off his ass and make his pick when he comes on here to Like posts. I'm starting to think he likes getting sliced.

Last night we had lightning and thunder, but precious little rain actually pissed out. This is getting rif***ingdiculous.

Sorry I have been busy making sure the ecosystem is coexisting in harmony. There is one in particular that is a real lap full. Pick incoming.
