@Striiker
I gave you your opportunity.
Be on the look out for heartbeat with a word or phrase tossed into it.So, we're back in the land of bad tattoos but there seems to be a lot fewer than usual at the moment. Maybe everyone is going to show up this weekend? Anyway, the big body art craze among the ladies right now seems to be words, phrases, sentences - usually in a handsome cursive script - with some key motto by which to live their lives. I ain't reading all of that, but it's much better than looking at hundreds of poorly drawn dream catchers.
If that's what's in right now, it should reach this particular corner of the country some time in 2026 or so.Be on the look out for heartbeat with a word or phrase tossed into it.

Some picks are just too perfect for specific posters. I hope all goes well with your health situation, Strawberry.My sincerest apologies, all. Had an incredibly hectic and stressful day yesterday where I was basically forced to make a big medical decision on the spot late yesterday afternoon and spent the rest of the day bellyaching about it. So I popped into some threads to leave likes but didn't have the brainpower to come in here and make a pick. Which is kinda silly, because @BernieParent kindly teed one up for me via message. I'd like to stress that this was all Bern's idea and he graciously allowed me to pick it for myself.

@Chuck Downie is up, unless of course we've rightfully moved on with the draft.
Thanks, Bern. Urology says they can get me in to have my stone removed next Thursday, and if not then, they can't fit me in until September. I really want to move on from this but having never had any sort of surgical procedure done before, I'm also terrified of the idea (and of the post op period with the stent). But I'm starting to think it has to be done in order to move onSome picks are just too perfect for specific posters. I hope all goes well with your health situation, Strawberry.
Pick incoming, have been at the bar in Vaasa. Holy shit wtf am I doing here???
Just Koskenkorva and too muchHave they gotten you any Terva Snapsi yet?
It's the weekend, and you know what that means.
What it means is that we start the day with @Rebels57's catatonic ass on the clock. I don't know how this keeps happening, but we probably deserve it. @Lord Defect is on deck, and no one deserves that. @Beef Invictus is on the lido deck, and MacGruber is on the lido afterdeck.
I have gone on about how flawless "Shoplifters" (2018) is, but that's only because it is undeniably true. Its director, Hirokazu Kore-eda, isn't a flawless auteur - like a lot of prolific directors, he can drop some duds. In general, his movies don't come from "big ideas," and those slice-of-life works don't always reach me. But when he gets it right, he gets to me so deep (phrasing).
Last night I watched his film "Broker" from last year. F***'s sake, man. It wasn't as good as "Shoplifters" (hardly anything is), and it didn't quite bring the waterworks, but it is a hell of an affecting film. It's about a couple of guys who have a basket at a church where mothers can drop off their unwanted babies - the pair then find a suitable home from couples who want to adopt but for some reason can't. They take a sizeable fee, but they do right by the infants. One of the guys grew up in an orphanage, and the other (played by Song Kang-ho in his usual perfection) is estranged from his own young daughter and his ex-wife. A young mother drops off a baby, but comes back to make sure he finds a good home. She is played by the pop star IU, who is gorgeous and did a phenomenal job in (I think) her first big role. There are cops on their tail.
I don't want to give any more away, but I saw it compared to "Little Miss Sunshine," and that isn't inaccurate in some ways. It's just really f***ing good. If you have any sort of stomach for quality humanism, it's a can't-miss. It's on Hulu too, so easy to get to.
Definitely a category to revisitThe team movie quote is really hard. There are so many I want to pick.
