With recent discovery Kaberle's and Kubina's NTC expire the day of the draft it is believed one of these 2 guys will be dealt once the3 draft begins. The Leafs are still taking offers on both players but if nothing tops the deal one is most certainly being dealt

We're considering dealing Vaclav Prospal for a a decent forward or defenseman prospect and or a 2nd round pick in the upcoming draft.

Might let him go for less than that depending the player, or position of the pick.

:bolts acquire Tallinder from :sabres

Tampa Bay acquired defenseman Henrik Tallinder today from the Buffalo Sabres. In exchange, the Bolts send minor league center Blair Jones and a 2010 3rd round draft pick.

"Its no mystery that this past season we had some major holes defensively and we're taking a step to address those with this move. We're very happy to add a player of Henrik's skill and experience to our blueline. We love his size, hes 6-3, 215 lbs and we love his all around ability."

Blues Land Top Line Winger - Deal Prospect Cole
prospal_80298.jpg

John Davidson, president of the St. Louis Blues has sent Notre Dame defensemen and NHL prospect Ian Cole to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for left winger, Vaclav Prospal.

Prospal is going to set up well on our top line as he likes to dish the puck and we need a solid playmaker who can also finish.

Prospal has good size and that is something we have lacked in the past few seasons. He likes to use his size and get into those high traffic area's and he is going to be a big peice of the puzzle in next years playoff run.

Flyers have recieved very little offers for our players. We are content keeping this team but all other teams have the opportunity to get their hands on players such as Jeff Carter,Joffrey Lupul,Matt Carle..etc.

Sorry Hank, it's what happens when you don't stick up for Miller.

:bolts land Ian Cole from Blues

610x.jpg
bc_nd_110708_2_1.jpg

"First off we would just like to thank Vinny for all his contributions as a member of the Lightning. His infectious, happy go lucky attitude will be missed in the locker room, and our fans will miss his goal scoring celebrations, among the best in the NHL. We wish him the best with the Blues."

"Having said that, I don't think it was any secret we were shopping Prospal. Ask probably 10-12 GM's in the league, we were definitely shopping him. At some point we were asking for a 2009 1st in return, and a GM scoffed at us and said something along the lines of "you'll never get a 1st for Prospal..." Well I'm very glad to be able to say that GM was wrong, as we just acquired not only a former 1st round pick, but the 18th overall pick from the 2007 draft. We love the player we're getting back. "

"We feel Ian will be a solid two way defender in the National Hockey League, a possible top pairing defenseman one day."

"An excellent skater, Cole has a powerful stride that facilitates rapid acceleration, and his recovery speed when getting back on defense is outstanding as well. He makes a nice first pass out of the zone, and possesses solid offensive instincts that let him know when to join the rush and when to hold back. He plays a rock-solid physical game. Strong as an ox, Cole also has the endurance to log big minutes, and can either muscle an opponent off the puck with ease or lay them out with a board-rattling check."

"We will hopefully find out soon enough whether or not Cole wants to go pro or return to Notre Dame for his junior year."

:bruins and :panthers have reached a deal

To Boston-C Gregory Campbell, C Nick Tarnasky, D Colby Robak, FLA 2nd 09

To Florida-C Patrice Bergeron

Boston is sad to see Patrice go, but he no longer fit in our long-term plans. We felt that his salary and skill set could be used to address other needs that we had in the organization. With this trade we get a very good 3rd line center who plays good two way hockey and is physical, a 4th line center who along with Thornton and Bitz will be hell to play against, a defensive prospect that is a very good skater with good offensive instincts that Boston has needed, and a 2nd round pick in this year's draft, which we had traded away.

The Buffalo Sabres have traded C/LW Jochen Hecht to Columbus for D Rotislav Klesla. The Sabres would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jochen for his years of service to the organization, we respect the huge role that he played in the back to back ECF teams post lockout. We just felt that player and organization were going in separate directions and we wish Jochen the best with the Jackets. We're also very exited about the physical edge and size that Klesla can bring.
