Klimovich is the the kind of high risk-high reward guy you take with your found money picks like if we somehow got a pick for Holtby or multiple picks from Schmidt.
when you have one pick in the first 4 rounds, you want a guy who’s a safer bet to become an NHLer, even if his ceiling is slightly lower.
How exactly is Klimovich ceiling higher?

Is he doing things better than other players available or is that he van "rip the puck = higher cieling".

But I agree with your safer pick idea especially since hes our only "high" pick this year.

I will say this, I don't remember the last guy we "Missed" In the 2nd or third round where I have heard recently has been doing amazing in the juniors or nhl lol

Klimovich seems to have top line upside with his combination of skill, shot, and hockey sense. That’s a rare thing to find in the second round. Whether he can put it all together and make it work consistently against better competition is a big question mark.

More or less, this is my question Just worded much better

The only guys I remember "falling" out of the top 10 and doing well was Ryan Pullock but he was still drafted fairly high.

Fallers such as Shinkaruk and Schroeder fall for a reason...

Yup. If you look at it historically, the guys this board thinks are "fallers" usually end up busting.

The actual fallers are guys that nobody on this board wants but end up going in the 5th round like Conor Garland who is apparently Gretzky now.

Hey, I wanted Garland!

Stankoven was the big faller in this draft - top-10 talent who can fly, has a massive motor and finishing skills and went 45th because he is short.

Potato had him #15. It has Martino higher, but that is because it is blind to his skating issues.

Potato picks still on the board (I think):

Ayrton Martino
Ryder Korczak
Brenden Sirizzotti
Logan Stankoven
Joshua Roy
Olivier Nadeau

I’ll bet you money that Stankoven or Pinelli, let alone anyone drafted within 10 picks will be a better player in 5 years.

Its the standard, "I'll bet you that one of several guys I like will be better than the one real pick we have." BS.

You want to pick one guy, go ahead but the way you phrase it, it's just saying, if I had two 2nd round picks near yours, it would be better than having 1.

No shit.
