Tallon was in the front office in under roles 7 years before he became GM. And overall was not great in his stints. A lot of progress from Mike Smith was good and trades he made when the team was weak were good.

We certainly are witnessing how soft Dougie is in the series against Canes. I didn't want either guy but since Stan did it anyway, I'm glad he opted for Seth.

Tallon was in the front office in under roles 7 years before he became GM. And overall was not great in his stints. A lot of progress from Mike Smith was good and trades he made when the team was weak were good.

Tallon spent barely a year and a half as an AGM, people weren't overly thrilled he got that posiiton then GM because they couldnt think of him outside an announcer.

Tallon did a good job, he had weaknesses too like setting us up for cap hell...point is he cared about the Hawks, the city & it showed. Jones seems to be the same way...it can't get any worse for Philly than it has been..so f*** it what they got to lose...

Reading the main board.......lots of tinfoil hats and pitchforks. And many many tears as well as some sort of entitlement for their team as they haven't won in a while and it is 'their time'. Well, get a competent GM/front office with a plan perhaps for starters before whining like a petulant 3 yo.

(To me) they all added something.
Bob Murray convinced dollar bill the team needed its own minor league team (they used to share)
Mike Smith convinced them to hire actual scouts instead of giving lifetime jobs to former players (Jim Pappin comes to mind)

The drafts in 02-03-04 set the team up.
Then other than the blind squirrel picks (Kane @1 and Toews @3) the drafts from 05 to 09 were awful.
Then Bowman who didn’t draft poorly with the shelves well stocked instead of filtering the youth he picked into the lineup moved any picks, prospects to try to keep winning.
And here we are today.

It's true, I wouldn't change anything if it meant we don't get Bedard. But let's not act like getting Seth was the better move in hindsight.
