I don't know much about their situation, but I just would have thought that the Panthers would be going for it again in each of the next few years.He's 5 years older. He's at and soon to be leaving his prime, Tkachuk isn't even at his yet.
Paying for past production is the worst thing a team can do, they would hate the last 2-3 years of that deal.
If so, does Tkachuk really give them better odds of winning?
If not, does this mean they are retooling, getting younger, and aiming to be contenders again in a few years? From what I read on here, their asset pool seems to be shallow.
