It always makes me laugh when Canadians pretend to know shit about this country based upon a small sample of the stereotypes.
It would probably blow your mind to know that 95% of Illinois is a red state. That outside of the Chicago Metro area, you're looking at almost an entirely red state. That goes for most of this country. Metro areas around the major cities = blue, rural areas = red. Probably blow your mind to know that 2 out of 3 voters in Nashville and its metro area are blue/independent.
Also... you do realize there are actually two Carolinas, right? That there's no "state of Carolina"?
