Saw more than a few salty takes at the broadcasters going on about how long its been since the last Avs Cup when eighteen other teams have longer active droughts than they had.

Kinda puts things into perspective.
Anything under 32 years isn't that long. That's how often every team should get 1 on average.

Oh yeah, I know. And in fact, I'd say it only becomes a drought once you pass that threshold.

If you go say 30 years without a championship in a 32-team league, that's just dumb luck. 33 is when the drought starts now.

But admittedly, a couple decades can feel like forever even if it wouldn't fit my drought definition in any league other than the CFL.

If Curtis Joseph, Mike Vernon, Andy Moog, Tom Barrasso, John Vanbiesbrouck and Chris Osgood are not HOF worthy then Luongo sure as hell should not be

4th all time in wins is good enough for me.

Yeah his win % might not be as good as some guys who have less wins but I think he’s still a yes for me.

It should be remembered era that Luongo played in which artifically inflates wins via shootout

Luongo never won Vezina (Had five top 5 finishes), Only award win was sharing a Jennings (With Schneider) and won no SC

For comparable of not HOF worthy according to voters

Joseph = 454 wins (7th)
Five top 5 finishes for Vezina and no cup

Osgood = 401 wins (13th)
One Vezina top 5 finish , 2 shared Jennings (One with Vernon and one with Hasek) but won 3 cups (two as starter) and was starter in another cup run in which Wings lost in game 7 (To Pens)

Ryan Miller = 391 wins (14th)
Won a single Vezina (2010) but no other top 5 finishes nor any SC appearances or wins

Vernon = 385 wins (16th)
Had three top 5 Vezina finishes, Won Conn Smythe, Shared a Jenning trophy (With Osgood) and was starter for 2 cup winners (89 Flames and 97 Wings)

Vanbiesbrouck = 374 wins (17th)
Won a single Vezina (1986) while finishing top five 3 other times and was in net for Panthers 96 final run

Moog = 372 wins (18th)
Had four top 5 Vezina finishes, Shared a Jennings (With Lemelin). Won 3 cups as backup though in first Oilers cup he was winning goalie for final 2 games of SCF and outplayed Fuhr. Was starter or partner in three additional finals losses in Edmonton and Boston

Barrasso = 369 wins (19th)
Won Vezina (1984) and had three additional top five finishes, Calder (1984), Share of Jennings (With Suave). Won starting goalie for two cup winning teams

If Luongo is HOF worthy then there is no damn good reason Vernon, Moog, Barrasso and Vanbiesbrouck should not be in HOF and there isn't much difference between Josephy/Luongo

Joseph is the only guy you listed remotely close to Luongo.

Your right

Barrasso, Moog and Vernon were clearly better than him

Barrasso and Vernon especially must have pissed off some people around hockey to be on outside looking in

Moog did piss off a lot of people in hockey especially powerful people (Sinden/Sather) so it's not surprising he has been kept out of HOF

Never understood why Vernon is not more highly regarded
Vernon was a bad Conn Smythe pick. Should have gone to Federov. Or it could have actually gone to Lindros, who was phenomenal. People were excited about Vernon because he landed a clean hook in his fight with Roy, but as a goalie Vernon wasn’t all that good.

Luongo getting in is fine, even though he is probably the goalie the choked the most out of the options.

The bigger question is the Sedins. Mogilny and Elias are more deserving, and then there is Steve Larmer still out there.

Luongo......eh. Not really seeing him as a HOF goalie. An HOF choker yes but not in the HOF. Just my opinion and not because he was on the nucks at the time. Just.....he was good but not great to me.
