It's the opposite with Demidov

russia, not playing in international events, has really harmed the viewing opportunity and it becomes a high risk pick. even with all the talent seems to display, we still don't know what he plays like against the same talent pool.

Coles notes?
I’m on my phone so I will try to summarize quickly

- Emotional interview with Michael Hage (who’s from MTL and leave their until he was 7yrs) about his dad
- Sam Dickinson was really sharp in interview. Real
Pro and knows what kind of player he is.
- Levshunov was one of the most funny guy he had in interview
- Really impress with Catton, at the end of the interview, they ask if the player have questions and usually players says no or ask what they can improve but Catton ask questions about Forsberg on how does he improve each year
- had more reservations about Lindstrom interview but he said that it was the last interview of the day so he could be tired of his day. Didn’t seem to be worried about that
- Iginla is already a pro, you can see that the apple didn’t fall to much far
- Talk about how much a player that just grow but is still tiny can be interesting (didn’t name Sennecke)
- he said that they interview a player that look to have more passion about Wall Street then his training
- talk about how the process is working
- The the medical of a player goes to the medical team and after that they make a report and says there recommendations to the Hockey ops

If Chicago takes Levshunov at 2.. get excited.
I would say 80% chance they go that way. My thinking is why would it leak so much in the media at this point... the Blackhawks are 2nd overall they don't rely on other team to select their player. The only other possibility is leaking Levshunov in the hope that Anaheim trade up with them to get him.

Spoke to some KHL fans, they prefer Michkov to Demidov. Think Michkov's elite in ways Demidov is not. It reinforces my theory that Demidov will drop a fair bit because there are just so many good prospects in the spots 2-10 and Demidov's skills don't seem to stand out as sharply in contrast.

Just saw this which was a bit too generous to Demidov imo. Pronman: How does 2024 NHL Draft prospect Ivan Demidov compare to Matvei Michkov?

Buium is a highly skilled defensemen.. Think Makar, Hughes level production in the NCAA

I like Buium a lot but he is not at the Hughes/Makar level as far as offensive potential is concerned. He played on a stacked team at Denver that scored a ton of goals and his numbers were inflated.

I think he is underrated defensively and overrated offensively and will be a very good all around dman in the potential mold of a slightly larger version of Brian Rafalski.

when will things ever be equal?
If you have players with similar upside. If five of your ten scouts want the D and the others want the F.

It’s unlikely. The main thing is not to do the “this guy is obviously better than all the others but we want a C so we’ll take the next C on our list who is ranked 8 spots lower” thing.
