Any interesting tidbits ?
  1. Saying this year the invariability and within their own decision makers, so could be some interesting discussions between now and the draft
  2. Godin saying that they are in a better position to draft Demidov than he originally thought and the inverse on Lindstrom

  3. Demidov probably not Anaheim's or Columbus' choice
  4. Winds blowing to Levshunov in Chicago
  5. if Chicago takes Demidov, then that's the case where neither Demidov or Lindstrom are there at 5
  6. and then they might take the defenseman
  7. and then might trade down and consider it but ultimately likely wouldn't trade down.
  8. Says they are very fond of Zeev Buium
  9. Took Dickinson to dinner but wouldn't read much into it as they also took Eiserman and they're not taking him to 5. Dinners can be landmines.
  10. [Levshunov to Chicago is basically the keys to us getting Demidov/Lindtsrom
  11. Chicago D and then Anaheim goes D
  12. Doesn't think CBJ is too high on Demidov
  13. Thinks CBJ like Sennecke
  14. Thinks Canadiens think highly of Sennecke

  15. Lindstrom and Demidov are in that tier so all things equal they won't take a D man over them

  16. Jump at the chance to get either of those guys
  17. Sennecke had an impressive interview with the Habs - left even more intrigued, intelligent young man, responded well to being challenged

  18. SKA going to make it difficult on Demidov if he doesn't sign an extension and might send him back to the MHL if he doesn't

  19. Millstein helps but there's that unknown element

  20. Canadiens got a good amount of live viewings of the russian prospects including Demidov

  21. More on how Lindstrom would be picked over Demidov if the Habs had the choice

  22. Talking about Perron on short term

  23. Would be surprised if they didn't make some move up front that we're not anticipating

  24. Won't be picking 26th in the draft, whether they move up or use it to get a player.

  25. Jett Luchanko going to be drafted a lot earlier than people think

  26. Eiserman going out to dinner is a tell that the Canadiens are trying to move into a stage where they could get him.. and not so much in a trade down, but a trade up
  27. Sennecke is 6'3

We may very well have a shot at Demidov at 5.

What can a Russian player do to convince GMs they want to come over asap?

Russian Player 1: My KHL team murdered my dad, because I want to go to NHL.

NHL GMs :

Russian Player 2: My dream in life is to play NHL, when I end my contract next year I'm coming over.

NHL GMs :

Russian player 3 : I celebrate pride month and I voted for Obama in 2008 twice

NHL GMs :

Great work - thanks a lot

It’s so damn intriguing this year - I honestly have no clue how this is gonna play out but seems we are getting a very good player no matter who we end up taking

Could be that he did it for Demidov and the other clients just get to participate.

Basu says the Habs came away really impressed by Sennecke.

They broke it down in that if the Habs view Demidov and Lindstrom in the same, or above tier as some of the d, they'll take them, but if those two are gone and the next rated forward is a tier below the d left, they'll take a d. It's not an absolute, but seems like something they (habs) would lean to it seems they're (B&G) saying.
Interesting 🤔

Seems very likely at this point that the hawks take Levshunov

Anaheim is stacked in talented top 6 forwards and offensive dmen, so a Silayev or Dickinson makes a ton of sense for them. The one wild card is what they do with Zegras. If they plan on trading Zegras for a dman, then I could see them drafting a forward instead.

Columbus could go either F or D. If they go forward, it seems they are more likely to take Lindstrom than Demidov.

Habs will take whichever of Demidov and Lindstrom is available. If both are there, hard to tell who they would pick, but hopefully they go Demidov.

Habs got a lot of viewings on Russian players this year. Their front office (didn't specify which, but probably Bobrov) got to see them play, while other teams might have only gotten a scout, or two.

Potential for the Habs to take more Russians this year?
Hopefully he likes Yegor Surin. He’d be a great addition.
