Guhle is solid but he does not produce nearly enough to be a #1D
As a sophomore playing with subpar D and fwd Corps while having to hold up the whole corps defensively.
Having a better/more experienced D corps will boost his numbers.

I think it depends on how Hughes evaluates the progress of the rebuild. Adding some middle six forwards would win more games short term. Are the habs at a point where they should be worrying about that is the main question. If we end up taking a D at 5, it's almost certain to me that we'll see a trade this summer for a young top 6er that can make an impact in our lineup fairly soon (like the Dach and Newhook trades, but perhaps even more high profile).
I'd argue we don't have a proper competitive 2nd line, even with a healthy Dach, and I'm not sure we have the pieces in our organization right now to build one down the line. We need to be bringing in skill up front pretty soon to grow with and complement the rest of our core.
I don't think we can walk into another season with only one forward line that is capable of making a play.
The part on Demidov isn't an insider view of what Hughes is suggesting. It's what's happening in Russia, and the possibility of Demidov getting entangled in KHL affairs that would either extend his time there or hinder his development (another year in the MHL). Given that teams want certainty when they pick high, this points to Demidov dropping, perhaps substantially, in the draft order.
Do you think any of this Demidov stuff, new or not, will have any impact on the Habs’ decision should he be available at the 5th drafting slot?Turns out all of this "new" stuff on Demidov was already mentioned by Pronman and Wheeler on their most recent Friday Athletic podcast; Basu had nothing new to offer this whole time.
As a non-insider, your guess is as good as mine. Were I to guess, the only real factor with Demidov is whether the staff thinks he can adapt to pro hockey. The rest of the stuff is probably noise.Do you think any of this Demidov stuff, new or not, will have any impact on the Habs’ decision should he be available at the 5th drafting slot?
That'S cause I wouldn't draft Parekh at 5th dude!Yes, the idea is to outscore the opponent. When he’s on the ice, it tilts heavily in favour of his team.
Weird to think you’d draft a guy at 5th and not play him that many minutes.
Reinbacher, Hutson, and Mailloux have played a combined 3 gp in the NHL. Talk about premature.Ahhhh...I knew it was only a matter of time before your bad manners would come out.
By the way...3 of the 4 have played in the NHL (Guhle, Hutson, Mailloux) so maybe get your facts straight if you're going to take a swing.

You may have forgotten since the last couple of games of the season were years ago but three of those four did play a game in the NHL.Two of those four haven’t played a game in the NHL so this is all premature… but par for the course in this discussion with you
Habs really need to get their hands on another 2nd rounder. There will be a lot of good players falling into day 2 and we're only picking 57th....
Make it happen Hughes.

As much as it'd be nice for the Sharks to move #14+ for #5, there simply isn't the right pieces available that could entice Montreal. Funny enough, I think the #7-10 range is the ideal trade up/down range for both my Sharks and my Habs, respectively. My feelings is that both Demidov & Lindstrom + a d-man (Levshunov) will be picked before pick #5. Habs will have to pick the best D available (Dickenson ???) or go with Iginla or Catton or trade that pick to go down between pick 9 and 14 + a young talent.
Does he have finish? We can argue until we're blue in the...If Lindstrom is gone I would be happy to add Dick to our backend. He seems like the real deal.
I did forget the last couple of games of the season and my point remains completely unchanged. Counting chickens before they're hatched is bad enough, to do so and then also demand nobody else even entertain a discussion about trading a certain piece for another piece is just plain senseless. You may have forgotten since the last couple of games of the season were years ago but three of those four did play a game in the NHL.

I know Sennecke didn't participate in the testing due to him recovering from an injury. My question is did he at least get measured? Or are those measured only those who take part in the testing? I didn't find him on the list of those who were.
He did not get measured so there's no updated height and weight values for him.
That sucks. It would have been real interesting to know, mainly out of curiosity. I know he's a small player skill set in a big body, which is a very intriguing package.
Hearing? Bruh that's been known for months.
