It’s definitely possible that whatever team gets #2 prefers Michkov or Carlson to Fantilli.

We really don't know much about Carlsson just yet. He has slowly begun throwing some heavy checks, but we also have to remember he turned 18 years old this past December and is playing in a top tier men's league. Physically, Carlsson needs to develop more lower body strength as he's playing a bit top heavy to where he can get knocked down. Getting bigger tree trunks and more mettle as he get older, then who knows?

Again, that's the problem with comparing players from different leagues, we're missing a lot of context and how that context fits in.

The one team that really could afford to wait for Michkov is the Hawks. If they knew he would be available in 3 years I could see them taking him after Bedard. Maybe even the Sharks. But I'm just not so sure either of them is willing to wait, who knows how many, more years than 3. I'm guessing neither of them take him.

I'm not even so sure anybody takes that risk ahead of Smith. I could see Michkov go 5 or lower. I guess time will tell.
 
Sharks fan entering the pond in peace. If you guys get Bedard, where do you guys realistically see him slotting in your lineup and how soon do you guys see him being a full time player?
 
Here's a conspiracy theory for everyone. They knew the results last week and 2 teams in the 12-16 range won the draws so they know if will be a quick show as fans are going to be able to figure our the draft order once teams are skipped. So they pushed it back an hour.

when they release the lottery video, Bettman will probably hold up a newspaper from today. that's what he did in last year's video

Do they actually do the video of the balls dropping? I thought they started with the cards in order of the teams draft position revealing 1 at a time. I missed the start last year.

my understanding is they will at some point release the video of the actual drawings (maybe won't be today)

Probably 2nd line right wing to start, along side his buddy Mason McTavish.

He's a "full time player" right away for whoever drafts him, absolutely no questioning that.

I'm unsure if the Ducks would start him on the wing or at center. I could picture starting him on the wing on what would be our second or third line on paper.

Vatrano - Lundestrom - Strome

It hasn't leaked in years. NHL doesn't permit anyone with a phone into the drawing room and nobody leaves until the show airs.

What's interesting is I'm not exactly clear on when the drawing happens. It could be happening right now, though I doubt they'd all sit there for four hours. Probably occurs 30 min prior.
