At this point you have to wonder if any Metro team above us is ever going to lose. Maybe Washington will occasionally but that is about it. I have never seen anything like this. You could probably argue that 4 of the top 8 teams in the league are in the Metro and 7 of the top 8 are in the Eastern Conference. The East playoffs are going to be a war this year, while the West is pretty much a joke.

Let's hope one of those Cap losses is today in Boston. If that comes to fruition and we beat the Habs, we are a point ahead of Washington

It's the Ducks, lets not get too crazy here
Pens O looked pretty mobile. Loved watching that kid Joseph. They best hope Jarry gets healthy. DeSmith looked quite shaky last night...too many rebounds, soft goals

Evil Empire strikes again.

Rags are a machine. They never have an off night

They are hitting stride. Contender vs Pretender time. Tampa starting to rumble the engine too. Then there's, well, NYI

Debating whether I want to DVR Pens/Ducks
I will put my Rags hate against any others in a contest but you have to give them some credit.

Sure they’ve whiffed or partially so on some top 10 picks lately but look who else they’ve drafted in the middle and later in the first round.

Schneider #19
Lundkvist #28
Miller #22
Chytil #21

I’ll also point out that they moved on from an impending UFA of their own, Rick Nash, with a return puck that was flipped to ultimately become KAM.

The mid to late first round picks that LL routinely trades away and the pending UFAs that he has that could be flipped for picks or prospects might ultimately become major contributors on a contending team. For a team like the Isles which has trouble landing prized UFAs or college free agents that’s no small issue.

I also think getting Trouba was huge. I understand I might be the only one but I'd love to have him here....

.....now back to our regularly scheduled irrational blood boiling vein popping loathing🤬

Counterpoint…Lou trades those first round picks to get guys that may not have signed as free agents. Isles in a rough spot trying to sign free agents, but on the plus side it seems once they get here they want to stay.

Counterpoint to yours.

The trades for Palmieri and Pageau netted solid but unspectacular players. The same is likely with Romanov though he filled an enormous hole on the defense.

I didn’t love the Horvat trade but it’s fair to say he’s on a much higher level than the other players. Considering we gave up a mid first round pick and Raty who was playing as an equivalent to a mid first rounder, that’s a steep price.

Isles lose to the lottery bound Habs.

Caps go on the road and give Boston their second home loss all season.

Crazy to think that on Thursday we had VAN and MTL down 1 pt to wash. And Wash was in BOS. Somehow we lose a pt to wash.

Bruins lose 2nd at home all season....the biggest disappointment is that we're supposed to be a defensive team with elite goaltending and lost to 2 shitty teams by blowing 3rd period leads.

6-2 thrashing of the canes. Panarin w 4 goals. This should help
excellent!.....me and you man....we can always count on each other!

had great dinner and dessert with the Mrs. tonight....only got clipped for a buck ten

everyone gaga over boston and carolina, then jersey and toronto....in horse racing parlance, rangers and tampa (another road win today) are getting the perfect trip.

Pens kicking ass tonight naturally

59 sog?? Holy crap

The Caps beat the Bruins then lose at home against the Sharks.

The Pens dominate the Ducks and then get get crushed by the Kings.

All the teams vying for the 7/8 playoff spot have warts. Big warts.

I still would love it if we somehow snuck in but that joy would be extinguished within a week once the playoffs start.
