The only way I can see Bode Wilde possibly regaining value and sticking with the Isles is if he returns and they essentially assign him to Boychuk.

It would be a monumental first task for Boychuk but, if anyone in the organization is up to the task, I assume it is JB.

Just read Andrew Ladd failed his physical. Going on LTIR.

He’s the gift that keeps on giving.

Least the bastard Ladd could’ve done for us after we made him rich is gone on the LTIR before we had to give up prime assets to dump him. Hopefully he invested all of his money in crypto at the peak.

I'm not sure that he's correct that AZ gets the pick at this point. But this has always been confusing as anything.

But per CapFriendly, there are a couple of conditions (note the "and"):

**Conditions: The pick is transferred to Arizona if Ladd:
1. Does not play in any professional games in 2022-23 while under his current contract, and
2. Does not retire prior to the conclusion of the 2022-23 regular season

I thought the same thing. There's still time for 1 to happen and 2 hasn't happened yet.

Well I assume Ladd is not going to retire and forfeit his $1 million base, right? Unless he wants to stick it to the Isles and be petty and retire like a day before the season ends. If he does that, I hope one of those Sturgeon that he fishes for, swallows him alive. Funny how he passed his physical last season, so the Isles couldn't just send him to LTIR.

News about Ryan Ellis’ injury is not good.

Sounds like Philly was employing the old NY Mets medical and training staff when they traded for Ellis.

Hard to believe that catastrophic injury just occurred four games into the season last year, and wasn't pre-existing to the trade.

Seems very questionable from the Nashville side, especially given the commitment they made to Ellis, then flipped him for a statue in Phillippe Myers and Nolan Patrick, who they then flipped to Vegas and Patrick is out for the season yet again (after returning for just 25 games last year).

Nashville's medical staff must be borderline precognitive with respect to injuries.

I don’t see any reason for him to retire when he can sit on LTIR and collect his full salary.

I agree, it wouldn't make any sense other than him being spiteful about the Isles for some reason.

Amazing, now Ladd is okay with going on LTIR. Thanks for nothing.

He just didn't pass his physical, he doesn't have a choice in the matter. Unless he purposefully didn't take care of himself there's nothing he could do in this instance it seems.

Because Boychuk spent the better part of six seasons in the minors, improving and proving himself to get to the NHL. He made it through hard work and dedication.

That is reality, which Wilde seems to need a dose of.

Wilde seemingly thought he could get into Harvard and Michigan, with minimal grades.

Jeff Wilpon couldn't get into Michigan and his dad built them a baseball stadium.

Wilde appears to have gotten horrific advice throughout his career, if anyone can lay it out for him in a way he can (perhaps) finally understand, it might be JB.

And if he is still a knucklehead, then JB can let management know that he is a lost cause and maybe we are finally done with him and talking about him.

It will be interesting to see if Ladd tries to fight this and get an independent medical opinion, filing a grievance, etc.

Guy refused to give up while with the Isles yet, after finally playing last season, now he is deemed as unfit to play?

If it was previously black and white, the Isles would have sent him to LTIR long ago.

And we know that Arizona, and more specifically their ownership, won't object to questionable behavior and decisions.
